"Seedhiyan unhe mubarak ho, jinhe chhat tak jana hai
Meri manjil to aasman hai, raasta mujhe khud banana hai.."
Udaipur was founded by Maharana Uday Singh as a new capital of Mewar. It has also been referred as "Venice of east". The famous lake palace is situated in middle of Lake Pichola and it is one of the most beautiful sight in Udaipur.
Udaipur is also home of second largest man made lake "Jaisamand Lake"
Best part of Udaipur is that it has an airport and that connects you to the city within short span of time. I flew from Delhi to Udaipur in the morning (It was my 2nd time to Udaipur). One can book return ticket from Delhi to Udaipur in 7k.
Once you land, you could book uber/ola in around 400 to 500 INR to get to the city or take bus from outside the airport.
Best place for anybody to stay in Udaipur is near Lake Pichola and remember Udaipur is famous for beautiful stays, so always research and find stays as per your need.
I personally booked "Kehloor" in around 3k per night with breakfast.
After check-in, i quickly went to hire a scooty as this is the most affordable and best mode of transportation anywhere (it costed me around 400 per day)
Udaipur is very famous food & drinks therefore i started my trip with a very famous chai wala "Gattu Chai". It turned out to be the best chai of my life ever.
After enjoying a cup of tea, i started with City Palace and it is 250 INR for entrance. It is quite beautiful inside out and you get to see things that will suprise you, It will take around 2-3 hours to completely explore the place.
here are some clicks (you can do tour guide if you really want to get into details and understand the history)
After exploring this palace i went to Sajjangarh - The Monsoon Palace
I love this place, riding scooty in the lush green mountains.
The sunset point is one of the most attractive sights of the Palace. During the sunset, the Palace illuminates the glow of golden orange. So never miss out on this marvelous view
Entrance of this place will roughly cost you around 50 INR including your vehicle.
Next day i wanted to visit the location i came for this time "Bahubali Hills" this is a hidden destination around Udaipur & it takes around 40 to 50 mins to reach. It is yet not popular among tourist hence you would find it less crowded.
Entire route from Udaipur to Bahubali Hills is so beautiful and dreamy, you experience lakes like never before - below are some clicks
it takes around 20-30 mins to climp up the hill and after that what you see, will astonish you and give you hard time believing that you are still in Udaipur.
Saheliyon Ki Bari is one the most beautiful gardens and a major tourist destination in Udaipur.
Do you use google maps to find bahubali hills as the trekking point is in middle of a village, they charge you 10 INR for vehicle parking.
The Bahubali hills, a 360 degree view and that silence gives a jaw dropping experience of life.
After spending good 2-3 hours, i came back to Udaipur to have a cup of tea and headed to another famous place
After an amazing & tiring day, i spent my evening at a nice roof top cafe & clicking some of the most beautiful shots .
Shamiana Cafe
That's how i ended my day & went back to Delhi from a early morning flight :)
Good to know things :
* Udaipur is not so expensive and can be covered in a regular tourist expense
* Ample of opportunity to buy handcrafted stuff
* Do try out different cafes & cuisines around the lake
* Many beautiful and small Airbnb if you want to try that
* Chai & Street food is a must
