You may choose some or maybe all. What if I say that you can experience all these things in one place? Yes, it’s true. Believe it or not, Macao is that one place. Yes, you heard it right.
Here I am listing down the top 20 things which I want to experience in Macao and say “Wakao Macao” :P
History and Architecture ->
1. A-Ma temple
As Indians, (Proud Indians) we are always attracted to Temples/Churches/Gurudwaras and Mosques, especially which carries history with them. A-Ma temple is the oldest temple in the city, which was built in 1488 and it is said that Macao is named after that. It is a perfect example of a blend of various cultures like Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. How can someone or anyone miss this?
2. Mandarin’s House
It is a historical residential complex that was built in 1869. It was the residence of late Qing theoretician and reformist Zheng Guanying. Now just imagine the experience of visiting such an old building along with a great history behind it.
3. Dom Pedro V Theatre
Just imagine visiting the first-ever theatre to open in China? A beautiful building designed by a Portuguese architect. And how can I not mention that it is listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO. Now you don’t want to miss it, Right?
4. Guia Fortress
Want to see the Panoramic view of the beautiful city Macao, then visit Guia fort and chapel which was constructed between 1622 and 1638.
5. Ruins of St. Paul’s
How can it be a Miss when we are talking about the History and beautiful Architecture of Macao. It was built between 1602 to 1640 which got burned down in a fire in 1835 leaving this.
6. St. Joseph’s Seminary Church
Built-in 1728, this church is popular as a classic example of baroque architecture in China.
7. Na Tcha Temple
This beautiful temple was built in 1888. It is a very small temple situated right behind the Ruins of St. Paul’s.

8. Coloane Alto
2.7km Northeast Coloane Walking Trail to enjoy the beautiful views of the city. Fed up of city’s hustle-bustle, go and spend some time here.
9. Hac Sa Beach
And here’s the most special place, A Beach with Black Sand. Isn’t it exciting?
Besides this, there are 13 hiking trails in Macao to take a small break from daily life.
10. Night Life
How can we not talk about the Night Life of the city which is the world’s top gambling spot? Who doesn’t want to go and experience this glittery world? Bright shining lights in the nights, You are gonna surely feel that millions of stars have come down to earth. Macao is especially famous for it’s one of the biggest Casinos in the world.
11.Culture
Well experiencing the fusion of two different cultures is going to be so good. Its culture is a mixture of East Asia and Western Europe. One more interesting thing is that in Macao, one can use the two types of currencies, one is of Macau pataca and Hong Kong Dollar. Interesting, right?
Food
Your travel plans are incomplete if you haven’t added the food you are going to try, in your list. Food is the best way to know about the city.
12. Egg Tarts
Portuguese Egg Tarts comes at no. 1 when it comes to enjoying the food in Macao. You won’t find Egg Tarts like this, anywhere else in the world. So don’t even think to skip this whenever you come to Macao.
13. Almond Cookies
I love eating cookies and my mouth is watering just to think about these cookies. You can find them in almost every street market. And do not forget to pack some for your loved ones. Let them feel the Love of Macao.
14. African Chicken
This is special because it is kind of a fusion of Indian, European, African and South Asian styles. Litoral Restaurant is known to be the best served African Chicken in Macao.
15. CRUNCHY PEANUT CANDY
Crunchy peanut candy is a traditional Asian candy that should not be missed when you are in Macao.

16. Macau Tower
The Macau Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in Macau. It is currently home to the world's highest Bungy. But can you imagine standing at this height and watching the city from that top? If it isn’t thrilling, then I don’t know what it is.
17. Bridges ->
Bridges make this city more beautiful and picturesque, especially in the night time.
Shopping ->
18. Senado Square Area
If you are a shopaholic person then go to this market without a second thought. You can buy fashionable clothes from this market.
19. Taipa Flea Market
No Shopping is complete without visiting the flee market in any city. So Macao is no different. You can go and enjoy shopping and bargaining altogether :P It opens on every Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM. I swear it reminded me of Sarojini Nagar :P
20. Picturesque Locations
I mean, are you still expecting me to tell you picturesque locations. Almost every location is so picturesque that you are gonna come up with so many memory cards full of Photographs and your Heart with so many Memories :)
