Bali is one of the most favourite destinations for people around the world and it is easy to find out the reason. From its unending list of offerings picturesque beaches, terraced rice fields, captivating spiritual energy, and romantic sunsets are some of the reasons. There is so much to explore in this magnificent paradise.

This was the weather in Seminyak

When we started our journey to Bali, we only had one thing in mind “to taste all luxuries in these 5 nights”. Going there felt like an adventure where something is there for every soul; yoga, surfing, trekking, meditation, and activities to name a few. Some areas of Bali have globalized to the extent where you can taste every western culture for its tourists, with hubs of cafes, hip bars, and vegan restaurants. Other areas still maintain the tranquility and unique Balinese essence.

What should you expect?

1) Language- We had no issues with it because we always had an English speaking guide accompanying us. The main languages are Indonesian and Balinese.

2) Currency- We carried dollars with us as its the easiest to convert to their currency. The Balinese currency is the Indonesian Rupiah which is 1USD= 14710.50 Rupiah

3) Digital Cards- There are plenty of USD conversion shops and ATMs across the main cities of Bali like Seminyak and Ubud still I would recommend you to carry cash for all the exchanges because there will be a lot of hidden transaction costs which you will be able to identify after the transaction

4) Charging Plugs- The plugs in Bali are type C and F, voltage is around 230 V and the frequency is 50Hz. We carried battery backup and charged it at night. There is no need to carry any Universal adapter for Indians

5) Safety- Bali is one of the safest countries to travel in the world for females. You just need to be super careful on the roads as it is one of the most accident-prone countries in the world. Always take a taxi if are not confident; you definitely don’t want to spend your holiday in the hospital.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Bali is during the dry season- from May to November as there is no humidity and you can enjoy the awesome weather which is perfect for your Instagram.

There is no direct flight to Bali, either you will have to make a stop in Malaysia or Singapore. We took the stop Kuala Lampur because the Singapore based flights costed more.

The Bali airport is so uniquely placed just at the shores of the Indian Ocean. You will love the experience and when the flight descends it almost lands on the ocean which is a beauty to witness.

Day 1

On 8th November we landed at Denpasar International Airport at around 9:00 AM and met our driver cum guide outside who then took us directly to Alila Seminyak which was already booked. It was a 5-star property with an infinity pool gazing across the ocean. We took rest and then got down to the ocean and then to the heated pool and stayed in it until sunset.

Day 2

The following day we were ready to visit the most tourist attractions place Pura Petitenget which is one of the six important sea temples in Bali. The temple worships no idol and it was built in the 16th century which is maintained by the Indonesian Government.

We then visited Pura Masceti which is another famous temple in Seminyak. It is famous among the farmers who come here to pray for rains or for insect infestations to stop damaging their crops. The sea view from this temple is mesmerising and you can expect some of the perfect clicks.

That evening we visited Ku De Ta which is a large beachfront bar with great ocean views. They do specialize in cocktails and you can rent a lounge or rent a bean bag to sit enjoy an evening by the beach. There is a DJ who keeps the evening going and there is an on-site restaurant where you can order all types of meals.

Day 3

This was our last day in Seminyak and an exciting one as we were to go for the water sport and the main attraction was scuba diving. Never miss this and get PADI certified where they will teach you to dive in safely or you can directly contact them to allow you to dive if you are an experienced diver.

If you are not aquaphobic and have never tried scuba, this is the right place to try. It is so much more than just feeding the fishes, you can hear your own heartbeat and that is enough reason to try this.

We didn’t go anywhere else after this and spend the whole day lazing in our resort in the evening. After dinner we went to Potato Head Beach where we lazed till the mind night, there are three restaurants here and if you want a lazy day in Seminyak then this is the place you should be in.

Day 4

Most of the tourists don’t know but Seminyak is famous for its innumerable spas which are not only varied but also reasonable. We headed out to a massage parlor on Day 4 before leaving for Ubud the same day.

Ubud has a completely different ambiance if compared to Seminyak. It isn't the kind of place which has a long to-do list and nothing is a must-do. If all you want to do is eat, walk through the terraced rice fields, take a yoga class, or massages then I would say Ubud is the must-visit place for you.

It is a 4 hours drive from Seminyak, as we checked in our resort Pramana Watu Kurung and was warmly welcomed. It was a wonderful resort with a personal pool to witness a scintillating view that still comes to my dreams.

We lazed around the whole day and enjoyed being in the beautiful resort. In the evening we were craving Indian food and had to walk for another 7 km to eat roti and chicken.

Day 5

This was the last day in Bali and we had to make the best use of it. We left early in the morning to see the rice fields, waterfalls and taste different coffees and teas in their coffee forests.
