The Jineng Villa Seminyak

Bali, well known to entertain honeymoon couples, is an island apt for travel with your partner. Having said that, the beaches here attract a large number of surfers from across the globe.  It also seems like a mecca to many divers. The locals are extraordinarily artistic; hence paintings & sculptures are displayed & sold at every corner of the street. It is definitely a place to be laidback and enjoy the serenity.

Choosing comfort over price – Hotels/ Resorts

  • Agung Raka Resort & Villa:

Located in Ubud and 15 minutes away from the monkey forest & the central market. We stayed in one of their private villas facing the beautiful paddy fields. The duplex villa has a wooden portico and the bedroom had a cozy romantic feel to it. The street leading to the resort has several restaurants serving authentic Balinese food. The villa costs between 35 – 40$ a night inclusive of breakfast.

  • Swiss-Belhotel Petitenget, Seminyak

A boutique hotel of international business standards, the rooms are comfortable and worth the price. The rooms cost up to 35$ a night inclusive of breakfast.

  • The Jineng Villa Seminyak

This luxurious villa has a private pool, a large bedroom, a Jacuzzi, a foyer and a massive living room with a cozy dining area. The staff is friendly and services provided are worth the price. Facilities include pick & drop to the city center any time of the day, and choice of breakfast from a wide variety of dishes which was served at our convenience in the private villa.  The villa costs 200$ a night inclusive of breakfast.

  • Grand Barong Resort

Amidst the busy streets of Kuta, 10 minutes away from the beach and 5 minutes from the party hub. The hotel pool is beautiful and accommodates a large number of people. But I was slightly disappointed by the room décor, washroom space and narrow corridors. In comparison to the first 2 hotels Grand Barong was not worth the price. Rooms cost 50$ a night inclusive of breakfast.

Indulging in Balinese cuisine

Rice is a major component of Balinese food hence, rice noodles & other rice dishes are part of their breakfast. Pork & seafood are equally famous and available around Bali. Multiple home grown spices are used in cooking, ergo the food is aromatic & flavorful.

Coffee lovers can try Luwak coffee also known as catpoochino, which is of robust flavor.
