Paraglidig in Bir-Billing
Bir-Billing is famous for world class paragliding. Billing has a natural platform for paragliding and is at 8000ft above the sea level regarded as highest site in world for paragliding. We boarded the bus to Baijnath from Chandigarh and is around 270kms from Chandigarh.
Baijnath is very popular temple of Lord Shiva with very beatiful art work inside. And behind the temple there is a stream called kheerganga ghat. The white noise of the stream was so refreshing we immediately forgot the tiring journey of the bus. After enjoying the river side for an hour we moved to bus stand which is just 5 mins walk from here we took bus to Bir.
There are plenty of buses from Baijnath to Bir. Bir is 11 kms from Baijnath and it took only half an hour to reach there. Here we contacted a pilot Goli thakur who took us to the paragliding site of Billing by his car. There is a short trek from billing to hanumangarh which offers close view of dauladhar ranges, we were running out of time so we decided to do paragliding only as we were on a day trip.
Then the moments came that rushed Adrenalime into my nerves. We jumped of the cliff and soon I was flying over the mountains. It is literally a feeling that I can't describe and one must have to do it to feel it. The most enjoyable part was Acobats in air,the pilot just rotated the whole parachute at full speed in air :DDD.
Then after a flight of around 20mims we landed in Bir. I thanked the pilot for this wonderful experience and we went on to exploring the town of Bir. Bir has many beautiful monasteries which are a must visit. The place is full of silence. After seeing the monasteries we returned toto Baijnath from where we boarded bus to Chandigarh and finally back home!!!
