Meghalaya is a charming mountain destination in North East India. The major attractions can be covered in under a week's time. Depending on whether you want to watch the lush green valleys during monsoons or the crystal clear water of Dawki in winters, you have to plan your visit to Meghalaya.
start with a stay in Shillong, exploring Umiam Lake, and the food stalls in Police Bazaar area.
travel to Dawki the next day and stay the night in Dawki or Shnongpdang. try boating camping and spend quality time by the river.
travel to Cherrapunji the next day. explore the caves and the water falls.
visit the Double Decker root bridge the next day. take two days if you think it will be tiresome im a single day.
On the final day explore Laitlum and other attractions around Shillong.

Hey, The main attractions in Meghalaya are as follows: In Shilong - 1) Elephant falls
2) Don bosco Museum
3) Wards lake
4) The many view points to get a gorgeous view of the Khasi valley from the city Nearby Shillong: 1) Dawki (I'll rate it no. one as this is the place where the water is so clear that the boats appear as floating in the air, checkout some google images to believe me!) 2) Shnongpedong (a lesser known cousin of Dawki, but equally pristine, known for river side camping) 3) Mawlynnong (cleanest village of Asia) 4) Mawsynrum (wettest places on Earth) 5) Cherrapunji (which has a variety of attractions including Swami vivekanand mission, 7 sister falls, Nohkalikai Falls, lush parks and view points) 6) Krang suri falls (I have not visited it yet, but the photos are simply droolworthy!) गुवाहाटी तक पहुंचने के बाद वहा से कैब बुक कर के या गोला बाजार से शेयर कैब में शिलांग शहर जा सकते है।। फिर
वहा शिलांग ,चेरापूंजी,मासिनराम, डावकी,मावली लौंग जैसे जगह को कवर करने के लिए तीन से चार दिन लगेंगे।। कैब का खर्च प्रतिदिन 2500 से 3000 के बीच आएगा। आप दावकी घूमने के दौरान मावली लौंग एशिया के सबसे साफ सुथरा गांव में एक या दो दिन जरूर रुके।। शिलांग में पुलिस बाजार के आस पास कही भी रुक सकते है।। शिलांग से घूमने के लिए शेयर बस भी उपलब्ध है।।
