If you are going for 15 days and single visit just apply for the ENTRI online, its best easy and cheap. and apply from the government website of malaysia it would be cheaper.
The visa are 3 types for Malaysia one is 15days, single entry ,30days multiple entry e-visa and last one is stamped visa if your travel plan not exceeds 15days you can go for the first option because its only cost you 1500rs and also its fastag visa when you apply you will get it in minutes
Do couch surfing its better than hostels because you can stay free and also enjoy those delicious home cooked meal by your host if they are in good mood
I am assuming your starting point to be Delhi..
take government bus from delhi to either rudraprayadg or rishikesh...either way you gotta reach rudraprayag...
from there you gotta change the bus and board the one which will take you to Chopta.
you could stay either at chopta or tunganath..hotels are reasonable and food is easily available..If weather is clear and you are staying at tunganath you would be able to look at the beautifull sunrise.
if not then chandrashila trekk takes around 3-5 hours depending on your spee (just to climb).

You can, but please inform them in advance. As they dont allow early checkins. Check in time in most of the hotels is 2.00 PM in Thailand. I have visited Thailand thrice but never got an early check in even after requesting them in advance.
