Goa in monsoons has it's own charm. And Mandrem in Goa is on another level with it's thick greenery, calm beaches and serene nature.
I got a chance to spend a weekend in Goa in July at Stone Wood Resorts & Spa. It's one of the best resorts to go and unwind yourself in Goa.
Location
This resort is located at Ashwem-Morjim Road in Mandrem region of North Goa. Mandrem is quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of Baga beach. There is a beach within a 10 min walk with hardly any crowd. It is also just about 10 km away from Goa-Maharashtra border. So, you can step your foot in an other state as well ;)
Staff
This resort has very polite and well-mannered staff.
Timings
Check-in time of hotel is 12 pm. So, if you arrive early, you may keep your luggage at the reception and either go for a swim or take a spa session or walk to the beach or have breakfast.
Rooms
All the rooms are actually individual villas and come at quite a reasonable price of around 1300 per room night.
Food
Food taste was okayish. Room service is quick.
Bike/Car Rental
The hotel doesn't have it's own bikes or cars rental service but has tie-up with a third party service and they keep their vehicles right near the hotel's parking. So, it's pretty convenient to rent a vehicle and roam around the clean & green roads of Goa!
Swimming Pool
This is probably the best feature of this resort. They have a pool which is complimentary. It is very well maintained with clean water and shower facility.
Spa
Stone wood resorts also have a professional Nirvana Spa service done by female therapists and offers a good range of full body massages.
Airport transfers
Since it's quite far from the airport, the resort offers to & fro airport transfers in their cabs. It costs about Rs.2000 for a ~60 km distance and takes around 1.5 to 2 hrs.
