The temperature can drop as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius in some places during the winter months. Chandratal Lake: This is a crescent-shaped lake that lies at an altitude of 14,100 feet. It is also known as the Moon Lake, as it reflects the moonlight beautifully. The lake is frozen during the winter, but offers a spectacular view of the snow-capped peaks and glaciers. Chandratal Lake is also a popular camping site for trekkers and bikers.

Key Monastery: This is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Spiti Valley, dating back to the 11th century. It is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Spiti River, and houses a large collection of ancient murals, scriptures, statues, and thangkas (Buddhist paintings). Key Monastery is also a center of learning and meditation for the monks and nuns.

Baralacha Pass: This is a high mountain pass that connects Lahaul with Ladakh. It is also known as the Crossroads of Highways, as it lies on the junction of four roads: Manali-Leh, Spiti, Zanskar, and Lahaul. Baralacha Pass offers an incredible 360-degree view of the Bara-Shigri Glacier (the second longest glacier in the world) and other snow-covered peaks.

Pin Valley National Park: This is a wildlife sanctuary that covers an area of 675 square kilometers. It is home to many rare and endangered species of animals, such as the snow leopard, Tibetan wolf, ibex, red fox, Himalayan marmot, and blue sheep. Pin Valley National Park also has several Buddhist monasteries and temples that showcase the local culture and traditions.
