With all the excitement of being getting into the Mowgli's land , The forest that inspired "The Jungle Book " and it was not even a week that I returned from My biggest expedition Road To Thailand of 20Days .

This deciduous teak forest that stretches across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra sleeps for about 3 months July-Aug-Sep ..And it opened this year on 8th of October and we were right there on 11th Oct' 19 to witness India’s most charismatic mammals — Tigers, leopards, wolves and gaurs (Indian bison). It is also famous for being the “Seeonee” of Rudyard Kipling’s imagination, the jungle where Mowgli grew up among wolves.

Leaving behind the right or wrong , true or false ..As always I believed to stay with this fictional character and go back to the Jungle Book series I used to record on our #BPLSanyoVCR every Sunday ... And as a kid we used to gather around our TV to see the Jungle Jungle Baat chali hai pata Chala hai...Chaddi pahn ke phool khila hai phool khila 🤭 Hahaha ..

Though this time I wasn't steering for the camp my own and we had our own complete fleet ...wish I could have drone capturing them curling around the Mowgli's land on our 7 white Innova.

After check-in at #PenchJungleCamp which won recently as the Best WildLife Resort in India , at #GlobalExcellenceAwards2019 .Getting into our luxurious tents in between the Jungle surrounded by dense forest and tall Mahua and  Teak trees was #EcoTourism at its best ❤

Sundowner at Khoka Lake in the afternoon was a perfect beginning of camping weekend ahead . It's around 6Kms drive between the villages and we steered across in our first open Jeep safari moment . It's been long we picked up  stones one by one and started to make ripples across the calm surface of Kohka lakes...2-3 max ripples we could note. As we thought to have our own special #Kho-Kho at #Kohka Lakes between the Hi-Tea Sky was getting pink .

Open Jeep Safari - Our Experience at Pench WildLife

The Pench National Park is open between 6am -10:30am and between 3PM -6PM thus we had to get into our open Jeep Safari's by 5:30am in the morning with all our respective permissions (strictly as per initial submitted ID Cards). At a time officials allow only 32-34 Jeeps to get into this . There are 94 registered private gypsies at Turia gate. A maximum of 6 adults and 2 children (below 1 years) are allowed in a jeep safari. A safari permit needs to be procured from the forest officials from our website on first come and first serve basis. These open jeeps offer amazing landscape to the beautiful, lush woods foster over 300 varied species of flora and fauna, something no other place in India can boast of .

Our Guide , Ms Suman informed us that a Tigress named "Langdi" was spotted with her Cubs a day before and thus we were trying to hear those calls as our driver Rajesh stops the Gypsy in between to hear them again and soon all these still and calm fom are shattered by the calls of the Langurs . Steering through complete off-road we passed by several #Ghost trees which in Night gives light and might be showing the ways to it's WildLife . But they look so beautiful ❤️😍

Pench National Park is also home to more than 210 species of birds that include several migratory birds – the magpie robin, crimson breasted barbet, red vented bulbul, teal and blue kingfisher being some of the attractions. Sitaghat on the banks of the #RiverPench provides an idyllic spot for bird watching .

A bit of disappointment after not seeing a single Tiger but Knowing that the reserve has only 60 Tigers and we were allowed to get into limited zones only ,we had great morning around lush green trees in the middle of Mowgli's Land.

When nature meets fantasy – and all of it in real – right here in Pench. Do we hear Sher Khan growl in consent ?

One shouldn't miss Gond Tribal Dance from villagers at Sawra at Pench, they decided to revive their traditional dances in an effort to preserve and showcase their rich culture and do join them to encourage keep this alive 🙏

Also you can enjoy a small village outing and morning Cycle Ride to the nearby villages at the Pench and enjoy the nature.

How to Reach Pench ?

By Air. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport at Sonegaon in Nagpur is 93 kms from the Pench National park.

By Rail. The Seoni Railway Station is about 30 kms from the Pench National Park.
By Road. Buses and jeeps can be taken to the Pench National Park from the bus stand which is at Seoni.

Best Time to Visit Pench

The best time to visit Pench national park is from February to April as it's closed in monsoon season and open only in 2nd week of October .
