Amid the second wave of Covid-19, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has announced a lockdown in the state from tomorrow. The lockdown will start from from 29 April 7 pm to the morning of 3 May.

“People should not panic. All grocery stores and essential services will be allowed to operate, I also urge migrant labourers not to leave the state,” Sawant said at a press conference in Panaji. A detailed SOP is expected to be announced later today.

Here's what we know till now:

- Public transport will remain shut.

- Essential services & industrial activities will continue.

- Casinos, hotels, pubs will be closed.

- Restaurants will only be allowed to operate their kitchens for home deliveries. Dine-ins will not be allowed.

- The borders will remain open for essential service transportation only.

- Tourists in the state will not be allowed to step out of their hotel rooms. 

The six most affected states by total cases in India are Maharashtra (4,410,085), Kerala (1,405,655), Karnataka (1,400,775), Uttar Pradesh (1,086,625), Tamil Nadu (1,081,988), and Delhi (1,047,916).
