We reached at Kochi Airport from Lucknow.
Had a awesome welcome and pick up by Jayant from www.traveloguekerala.com; however our trip was booked via mmt.
Name: Jayant Krishnan(+91 9496910915, 8921806812) from Travelogue. Nice person with nice driving skills.
Day 1, we had glimpse of Kochi city by going for back water boating which costs 2000/ for a small boat and we were 3 adults and we enjoyed the boating.
Recommendation: Avoid back water boating of Kochi, as you will enjoy better boating if you have Alleppey or Poowar Boating in bucket list of your Kerala trip.
At keyselect hotel we had dinner where we had awesome stay.
After breakfast we left hotel and started our main trip for Munnar. In between we got Cheeyapara waterfalls and it was too good with road side tea/coffee.
Recommendation: Enjoy lulu mall of Kochi and Balaji tea/coffee as it is managed by old couple who earn and loan money for travel the world.
They are famous worldwide for their wanderlust so contribute by having tea there.
PS: i did not get chance for lulu mall as time was very less as per trip itenary and in Lucknow Lulu mall is already under construction.
At Munnar we went to spice farm cost 100/ pp where guide will take a small tour of 1hour and show most medicinal and spice plants and trees. Must visit even if you don't like spices as it is rich in greenery and different experience and 12 types of Tulsi etc.
Second day at Munnar, we went for jeep Safari(4*4) which costs 4500; but we bargained to 3000/ for 4-5 ppl but we were 3 only
We went to ripple waterfalls, hanging bridge, echo point etc
After breakfast, we left Munnar for Thekkady.
We took tickets of mudra theatre to get first row of seat for kahthakali show which costs 200/ per show.
We didnt go for martial arts show.
We had Elephant ride which costs us approx 1800 for 45 minutes for 3 of us on one Elephant.
Good place for shopping.
Good stay at elephant route hotel.
After breakfast we left Thekkady for plain areas Kovalam.
In between we get waterfalls and Jatayu Temple at hill which is managed by ladies staff as the mark for respect for womenhood since Jatayu tried to save Maa Sita from Ravana's but died with one pankh left on his body and fell down the same place.
Recommendation: 1) Visit Jatayu Temple it's near Tivandarampuram and Kovalam.
2) Visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple of Lord vishnu the biggest one. We missed unfortunately due to lack of knowledge.
We reached Kovalam beach and njoyed evening there and stayed in Port palace but for vegans it's awful as most of the dishes there were pork/beef and less vegetarian :(
Only ambiance was good so avoid this hotel and select the one which is bit away from Kovalam beach.
After breakfast we left Kovalam and headed towards Poowar for boating(must go) and then Kanyakumari.
At Poowar Boating it costs us approx 3000/ for 3 of us for 2.5 hours where Golden Sand beach, Elephant cave and other mini vies of church and floating restaurants were there and cottages(online bookings)
Then we proceeded for Kanyakumari....which will be covered in Tamil Diaries
