Singhason peak, one of the highest peaks, stands majestically in the centre of Assam. Falls in Karbi Anglong district, the Singhason peak is one of the rare canopies of wildlife in Assam. Home to various wildlife like, Bear, barking deer, Hollock Gibbon, mountain goat, and various other wild animals. The base camp location is a village called Rongpi Ronghang Village. It is stated that during world war -II, the allied forces reached this point and prepared a secret runway for landing the aircraft. Some of the remains of allied aircraft are still found inside the forest area. It may be of crash landing. Actual are not known.

Starting place: Longnit, Kajir Ronghangpi memorial Inspection Bunglow:

The Kajir Ronghangpi memorial Inspection Bunglow is located beside the beautiful Longnit river. The bunglow is maintained by the department of Environment and Forests, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Diphu.

Started at 7:15 A.M we climbed toward the turning road on the slopy hill where local highlanders cultivate their organic agriculture products. The wild blooming trees and fresh windy blows refresh our minds and body soon as we started.

River crossing: Four river crossings and curvy roads await us once we crossed the Batlok village area. And also followed by the views of wild blooming trees and shrubs which mesmerized our journey on the bumpy and bad roads.

Destination: Rongpi Ronghang Village: Reached our destination after 3 and half hours of bumpy rides. And yes, once we reach the destination it is really worth a visit. The village situated near Langbirik River and the river's bank is always a charming place for cooking and eating and bathing. We are served with traditional delicacy oil free cooked.

The most spectacular view from the Rongpi Ronghang village is the Khonbamon Peak. Singhason and Khonbamon peaks are some of the highest peak in Assam. This mountain range is also known as the lifeline of the central assam. As most of the river tributaries are originated at these area. Hence preservation is a must for livelihood for both human and ecoystem.

Rare Alom Bilom Tree

Note : Alom bilom tree is a rare species tree found only in Singhason Area in Assam and a few place is Arunachal Pradesh. This tree is endemic to only himalyan mountain belt.
