An initiative similar to Indian’s Government’s Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and Dekho Apna Desh campaigns but undertaken by The Ministry of Railways in collaboration with IRCTC Ltd has been carefully curated to boost domestic tourism to the Northeast of India which still remains less travelled.
The initiative is a 15-day tour aboard Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Tourist Train that would commence on the 16th of November 2023 from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station and will cover an overall of distance of approximately 5,800 kms. The Northeast destinations that will be covered are – Assam, Tripura, Nagaland, and Meghalaya.
About The Train
As part of the Railways update, this Bharat Gaurav Deluxe AC Train, with a capacity of 600-700 passengers, offers a range of amenities. These include two dining cars, a flameless kitchen, shower cubicles in AC I and AC II coaches, sensor-based washroom facilities, foot massagers, and a mini library. To ensure your safety throughout the trip, the train is equipped with CCTV cameras, electronic safes, and dedicated security guards for each coach. Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime!
About The Journey
The 15day/14night itinerary encompasses a fascinating journey that commences in Guwahati, where you'll explore the Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, and savor a breathtaking Brahmaputra River Sunset Cruise. Your adventure then takes you to the historical city of Sivasagar, the former capital of the Ahom Kingdom, where landmarks like Sivadol Shiva temple, Talatal Ghar, and Rang Ghar await.
