How to reach kashmir-
The simplest route is obvious to book the tickets 2 months before to save money and fly to paradise.Best time to visit is April to August.
The tough but adventurous way to get things going is by road when you are short on budget and you chose this option always pack food and water for emergency and in monsoon it is coldso do pack your jacket. When I started my journey from gurgoan to Delhi we took the bus from the red fort you could prefer online booking with moonlight travels it will cost 1000 rupees per sleeper, as it is going to be a 8-10 hour Safar till jammu as u will reach there by just sleeping inside.

Off at jammu u will find lots of Sikhs and Kashmiri guys who offer local cabs to reach Srinagar which will charge approx 800 bucks or more per seat and another 5 long hours of Safar beacuse it's full of bumpy roads and to be cautious keep anti vomiting medicine with you. The landslides are something to be afraid of as it can stop in an hour and cleaned by Tractor but possibility is that it could take more than 24 hours or more for the roads to open up and you could be stuck in one place with lots of other people without any toilet, food and water far away from your reach. So if u can't wait and you have the guts you could choose route no.3 leave the cab behind, trek the steep hill without any accessories risking your life and reach the other end where from you could switch cars or bus( which are nowhere to be seen) and reach the railway station after which the connectivity is easy. The night life is null all of courage should be done before the evening as in night the people are good and helping but certainly the police stops on every 500 m at checkpoints.

If your destination cuts off from a disputed area so you should always let the cab driver speak as he knows how to handle the police there. If you are headed to Srinagar the place to stay is a houseboat but offcourse not everyone can afford it so you can take a hotel near to any petrol pump away from the Dal lake( famous for boating in a shikara) . In the evening it's good to have lotus chips nun chai and if u want Punjabi food that is also available in the market you could also visit the lal Chowk which is cleaner version of Chandni Chowk. Gardens like Mughal,Nishant and tulip are the specialty. Food to try is rista which is kind of a meatball which may be served in curd or tomoto curry.

The marriage here is full of hospitality. The food served is called wazwan( not for vegetarians) and four people eat in one plate with a bag which can be taken home so that all variety dishes can be tasted without wasting. Mehndi songs are sung in Kashmiri language. To protect themselves from cold almost every Kashmiri wears a pheran in which they carry a wooden hot pot called kangri, witty.

Awantipora Swami Temple has only remains of it but it also offers scenery to click some amazing pictures infact you could go in any farm and pose like ddlj.

Pahalgam is a beautiful to visit where you will find snow and river, you can visit the zoo here.
