THE REAL JAISALMER | SUN, SANDS, STARS & THE WILD DESERT SAFARI

After mountains, beaches, and roadtrips, my heart craved for another adventure - Spending a night in a desert and that's what brought me to JAISALMER

Now Jaisalmer needs no introduction, thanks to its royal persona and a rich history.

But I wanted to do it my way - which means staying away from the tourist traps and getting a glimpse of the REAL JAISALMER.

The standout experiences were:

• Staying in the heritage themed hostels

• Exploring the colourful rooftop cafes

• Riding the bike across the desert national park

Now the major reason to go to Jaisalmer was to do a desert safari

But not the touristy one. The off-beat craver in me wanted something more, something more raw, real and wild. So with 3 other enthusiasts I headed for an overnight safari, away from the popular Sam Sand dunes in the depths of the desert. I'll always remember this night as the time I saw my first shooting star :)

I came to Jaisalmer only for the desert experience. But the city has a soul reflective of its royal reminiscence. You may be a photographer, foodies, adventure freak, art enthusiast or a nature lover - Jaisalmer somehow finds its way to leave a lasting impression.
