Cinema holds the power of taking us to places without changing our physical location! Films whisk us away on a whimsical carpet ride, inviting us to embark on a visual journey that dazzles our senses and ignites our imagination, whether you are a movie buff or not.

From Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta's mesmerizing dance to the song "Jiya Jale" in the movie 'Dil Se' shot at the enchanting backwaters of Alappuzha and the breathtaking natural beauty of Thekkady in Kerala, to the song "Tu Hi Re" from 'Bombay' that captivates visuals of the roaring sea waves at Bakal Fort in Kasargod - these picturesque locations offer a perfect backdrop for cinematic moments that will forever be cherished by Bollywood enthusiasts.

To elevate its tourism sector, the Kerala government is set to unveil a remarkable initiative that will showcase the picturesque locales featured in popular movies, drawing inspiration from the silver screen to entice travellers.

What Is The Cinema Tourism Project All About?

Focusing on the prime locations that have left an indelible mark on the hearts of moviegoers, the project aims to enthral visitors with the magic of these enchanting settings scattered across different parts of the state. During a meeting with the State Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas, Ratnam expressed his commitment to endorsing the mesmerising locales that have charmed audiences with his popular box office hits.

The grand launch of the Cinema Tourism Project will be held at the historic Bekal Fort in the picturesque district of Kasaragod.
