The pandemic might have waged a war against human race and tried to snatch away all the freedom that we have. But, we have still managed to devise ways to enjoy our freedoms in a new 'avatar'.
To revive the 'eating-out' culture, which has been hit hard by the pandemic, Kerala tourism has launched a 'in-car dining' facility.
What is 'in-car dining' facility'?
As per media reports, under this initiative, customers can place orders at the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) restaurants (Aahaar) and shall remain seated in their vehicles. The restaurants shall serve the food to their customers at their own vehicles.
This initiative shall ,therefore, ensure public safety and people can enjoy dining in the safety of their cars.
Kerala’s Tourism Minister, PA Mohamed Riyas said ,“The scheme is being implemented considering public safety hazards. We are expecting that the initiative will help the tourism industry to pick up after the second wave of the pandemic,”
The minister also announced that KTDC hotel chains shall be renovated under the project ‘Mission Facelift’.
What can you order at the 'Aahaar' restaurants?
Well, you can order anything you like. As per reports, the menu under the 'In-Car dining' will cover breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snacks.
Is there anything else on the cards?
Media reports also suggest that the tourism ministry is planning to set up floating restaurants in selected destinations across the state similar to that at Veli in Thiruvananthapuram.
