A place that's always been on my wish list.
The Parashar Lake- Himachal Pradesh
a sudden plan , executed and there i was at my dream destination.
The journey precisely is as below.
1.An overnight bus from Delhi to Mandi (430kms)
2. Mandi to Baggi village (67kms)
3.Baggi to Parashar lake trek (7.5kms)
or
4.Baggi village to Parashar lake drive(20 kms)
Basically getting to the lake has 2 options.
1. Trekking form Baggi which is approximately 8kms- takes about 4-5 hours.
2. driving all the way to the Parashar lake that's 20kms.
We started our journey in an overnight bus from Delhi to Mandi and got to Mandi as early as 6 am.
Mandi to Parashar Lake we took a cab , the car takes you all the way up to the lake , in the middle of the gorgeous meadows.
Village Baggi is the last point before we get to the Lake , we made that a stop for the Sunrise.
after taking this freshening up break we continued to the lake , and in less than 2 hours we were there!
This place like no other i had ever witnessed!

We reached the lake by 11 am and couldn't wait to witness the beauty right away!
From the point the car drops you its a 5 mins trail walk to the lake.
and this is how the surroundings looked.
We decided to spend the day just admiring the beauty around and so did we.
An entire day only at leisure , doing nothing but just taking in the beautiful surroundings!

In terms of food , there isn't much available around the lake in these home stays.
they do provide some basic food such as...
Dal Chawal

Maggi
Chai
other than this there is one food spot, which is at the beginning of the lake , before we start the descend to the lake that offers a little more , as an addition to the above they also offer..
Momos
Paranthas
Kadi Chawal
Noodles
Basically , everything that satisfies the taste buds being in the hills.
This lovely day was just to relish the food and be in the lap of nature soaking in the Sun.
For the over night stay there are 2 options only
1. The PWD guest house that has proper rooms with washrooms and are available at a rental of between 1000-1500 per night.
2. The home stays around the lake , with basic floor mattress facility and the common washroom.
We got lucky to have found a room in the PWD guest house for the night.
This Guest house is at a great location in the middle of the meadows with a beautiful drive way.
After spending a lovely day in this paradise, we called it a day and moved in into the guest house.
Day-2
This day was the visit to the Parashar Temple and the lake from a closer view.
Also, the small uphill trek for the "picture perfect" view of the lake.
started our day quite early for witnessing the most gorgeous sunrise ever!!!!
We left the Parashar lake around 2pm for Mandi which was a 3 hours with a small tea break.
Our bus was at &pm from Mandi to Delhi
And there we were the next morning in our very own city!!
