Mirissa Beach Reviews

Hola!!! We are ready by 5.30 . Try to book Whale watching in "horizons Whale watching" they are awesome .Come on we need to go first and catch first place in ship 😊. We are the fourth in the ship . We comfortable taken the first place and waiting for the ship to start. We are much eagerly waiting to see the Whale. Our ship headed for 10 to 15 km inside the ocean . We are totally dried in the heavy sun .,it is better to use suncream lotion. After an hour travel,Suddenly noise coming from the other side of the crew. We jumped out to check whether they saw the Whale ,actually they didn't :p . Again we started to check for the Whale. Loud noise again ,oh yes !!! This time we saw two big blue whales spurting the water out of his nose . Oh god we had astounded by the way it flips it's tail woww we were mesmerized . We looked more than 4 to 5 times. Now our ship headed some where in another direction , again the noise came from our crew . Yes this time it is dolphin more than 500 dolphins are jumping near our boat . I pulled my camera and started to shoot it madly. Yes lot of good shots. At noon, we headed to unawatuna , where we planned to do our party . Yes it's has an awesome beaches . We rented a bike and visited the local places and Galle. The day was well spend. At Night we went for the roof top party.
Good morning.. I mean a beautiful good morning..!! As always I got up early to see the sunrise, and yes I could spend a whole day just sitting on that same rock joying the blissful sunrise. Well a call from my hotel for breakfast, that ends the story of beautiful sunrise and foodie inside me couldn't hold. A tasty breakfast was waiting. We then took a ride on tuktuk(sri lankan version of auto rickshaw) to marissa beach. It was a small ride and the best part was the clean and uncrowded beaches (of course it was off season). We were told that we had missed a boat ride which would take us to see the dolphins, the disappointment of the day. But we can go for a snorkeling, the saviour for the mood. I'm not very found of slimy animals but i touched a turtle and few fishes, and i enjoyed it. Spent our day visiting nearby beaches and found a secret beach (suggested by the tuktuk wala) on the way where we had our lunch, spent some time there and then left for the next destination Nuwara Eliya a long but awesome journey. Checked-in at our Airbnb booking and fall asleep in that perfectly cold weather after the beach times.
Whale and Dolphin watching On the second last day of our visit to Sri Lanka, we decided to go whale watching. We were staying in Bentota beach in the South and had to drive to Mirissa beach, which is considered one of the best places in the world to watch whales. We had to leave Bentota at five in the morning as Mirissa is a two hour ride away and the boats leave the harbour at 7 am. We had booked ourselves with an excellent company called 'Geeth and the Whales', whose guides were very knowledgeable regarding the precise spots where whales and dolphins are found. We entered the deep seas as the sun rose and with the spray of salt water on our faces, we truly felt like the kings of the world. Within an hour, we spotted the blue whale as it emerged from the water to perform an elegant tail flip. Everyone on the boat fell silent, humbled as we had witnessed the largest living mammal in the world. Over the course of the next two hours, we had several sightings of the blue whale and dolphins. This is an experience in Sri Lanka that must not be missed.
One of the most famous beaches in Sri Lanka for its laid-back vibe, Mirissa Beach is located 4km southeast of Weligama. Dotted with beach-side bars and restaurants, Mirissa Beach is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka's south coast. Besides the glorious view of the beach, Mirissa Beach is also one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka to go whale-watching. Things to do:Go for a swim; Indulge in water-sports such as surfing; Spot dolphins and whales; Go fishing; Spend some time lounging around the beach.
In the evening, I left for the beach. The blue water and the blue sky complemented each other. I got into the shallow water and while I was enjoying myself two mammoth size waves hit me. First, I tumbled into the water and as soon as I tried to get on my feet, the second wave pushed me to the ground. I felt an excruciating pain on my right knee. I sensed something bad has happened. Somehow, I came out of the water, changed and headed for the resort.
