North Goa Tourism and Travel Guide

North Goa is one of the two districts that make up the state of Goa, and it has something for everyone. If a good dose of vitamin sea, food and partying is what you are after, Baga, Vagator, Calangute and Anjuna Beaches will keep you entertained from day to night. Serendipity-seekers will be surprised by the serenity of Arambol, Mandrem and Sinquerim Beaches. There is a lot to do for adventure junkies as well, who can engage in water sports such as jet skiing, banana rides, parasailing and scuba diving. Suckers for art and architecture, history and spirituality can head to Fort Aguada, Fort Chapora, St. Lawrence Church, the Chapel of St Catherine and Temple of Bogdeshwara. And if flora and fauna make you happy, then you should put Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary and Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary on your itinerary. That's not all. For shopping sprees, make your way to Anjuna and Mapusa Markets. From the best clothes to handicrafts, they have it all. So if you are the sort to pack in a lot on your travels, North Goa has enough to keep you occupied.

Best Time to Visit North Goa

Peak SeasonWinter, from October to February, is the best time to visit North Goa. The city is full of enthusiastic tourists, the weather is cool and pleasent and several festivals are lined up in the state.

Shoulder Season: North Goa is at its beautiful best during the monsoons, from mid-June to September. The rain washes the state clean, and since tourists stay away, hotels and restaurants offer great discounts.

Off Season: March to May is marked by excessive heat and humidity, making summers a-not-so-ideal-time to pay a visit here.
