I travel to live and I earn to travel. I don’t need a lavish and pre planned itenary, I only need a company. This time it was all about revisiting to a place to find myself.
I wanted to relax ,I wanted a little time for myself, I wanted a little time to breath, I wanted a little time for peace, I wanted a little time for my best friend, I wanted to live, I wanted to breath and I wanted to be myself.
All set and the best part was my best friend was with me :)
Journey begins: Ranchi to Cuttack (Dhanbad- Bhuwaneshwar Garibrath Express)
Day 1: Cuttack reached at 7 am
Stay at a guesthouse close to railway station. It was 26th January , Republic day and one of the most wired things we came across was in the entire city all the petrol pumps were closed.
Note : on 26th January as well as 15th August, being a public holiday all the petrol pumps in the city are closed so better do your arrangements beforehand.
We were lucky enough to get a cab who was ready to take us around. Just one day we had here so we wanted to visit some famous as well as the unexplored places. First in the list comes Konark temple, declared as world heritage site a unique and a wondrous piece of architecture.
That one temple famous for its intricate stone work and the amazing skills of stone construction and art.
The intricate stone carvings, the entire concept of chariot and the history of the place which says for itself aloud.
A place where every tourist visits was done, a world heritage site- check.
Further we moved to one of the beaches less visited and a wonderful one. It's the Chandrabhaga beach, which was around 5-7 kms from Konark. The cab stopped and just as I stepped out of the car oh.. I was amazed there was the bright and fine beach sand.
This beach is a real isolated and unexplored one there were only 7-8 people more on the beach. The beach had fine and bright sand.
We were all happy and jumping to see such a serene, calm and beautiful beach. It's definitely an isolated and untouched beach.
The next destination was the Ramchandi beach, known for the water sports and the surfing festival that started few years back. It was not as expected it was crowded and does not have a sandy beach where one could enjoy. There is a naturally formed island during the 1996 super cyclone and one can go there and enjoy being close to the waves.
Then we headed back to the guesthouse all tired.
Day 2: Cuttack to Balasore to Chandipur
Morning we had to leave early to leave for Chandipur, train was at 7:30 am, Shatabdi express.
Got comfortable in the train and had a good breakfast and we had a pleasant journey on the way. That pleasant journey for few was sleeping but for me n Bikram it was about chatting, making faces and taking selfies. Soon we were at Balasore station at around 10:00 am. Moving out of the station we got an auto-rickshaw to go to Chandipur. As the hotel was booked so we knew the destination and it took us around 20-25 minutes to reach to the hotel.
So we were here at Hotel Shubham. A simple yet comfortable one. So we were there to relax and we were in no hurry to run to the beach. So go fresh, took a nap and lunch and then we planned to move to the beach which was hardly 100-150 meters away. It was 4:00 when we were at the beach and there were no waves seen , it was a blank.
It was 4:00 when we were at the beach and there were no waves seen, an empty but wet beach we took a walk on the beach.
The young couple seemed to have a walk on the beach holding and running around together.
Every step taken together seemed to be the kiss on the sand even the weather favored them it was a little cloudy in the beginning and later on the sky got clear. Maybe it was for them to enjoy the setting sun.
Running with the crabs, beach full of colorful sea shells, walking along the casuarinas groves and wet sand and along with it the sun going down.
As it grew dark all of us came back and sat on the huge steps at the beach watching the waves grow. The sound of the waves have always been mesmerizing for me. We didn’t miss having some fresh fish on the food stall there.
Day 3: Chandipur beach – one day for the Love
Morning we decided to wake up early and walk on the wet beach as the waves would have receded but we all were here to relax so early morning hustle and we took our time and went to the beach at around 8 am. Even the locals were few so no one to stare and disturb.
The couple walked on the beach enjoying the morning sun after few hundred meters they sat on the sand.
Still the beach was empty not even the waves to dance in front of them so they enjoyed talking and holding hands. A beach walk is definitely not fun unless you play with sand so soon we found the two of them were building a small sand castle.
Soon the waves came to the beach maybe a ‘hello folks’ was what they said.
Playing on the waves and on top is the bright sun and soon we headed back to the hotel. Time for lunch and then rest.
That evening was even more resplendent. We reached the beach and the sun had gone down it was dusk.
We again walked towards the beach it grew dark and we had gone almost 200 meters in the beach. It was cold and we saw the love birds walking towards the waves, as they walked the sky got clearer and soon it was full of stars. Maybe it was a gift for them then waves kissing their feet and sky glowing with stars and both of them holding each other. Indeed love is magical and every moment is a gift.
As they walked the lamp posts on the beach were turned on. The view is here for all to enjoy.
Another evening went by as we were sitting at the balcony of the hotel we still could hear the waves very clearly and yes it was musical.
Day 4: last day at Chandipur.
We had just this morning to capture the sunrise so we woke up early and ran to the beach.
The waves were gone and they left behind the sea shells and wet sand.
We walked into the sea in search of waves (sounds like a kid’s imagination) we found various sea creatures big and small.
After walking for a kilometer or so we saw the fishermen coming back after collecting the fishes from their net. We also now were close to the waves moving to the beach. The water was cold yet we enjoyed it. It was our last day here so felt every wave on the feet. Got beautiful pictures captured.
One of the best things about this trip was having my best friend around and he is a super awesome photographer.
When I was going through few of the blogs on this place everyone said about the serenity and the tidal variation being an amazing natural phenomena. For me this time it was a whole new experience. Last time I was here in 2011 it was an isolation trip, giving away all the broken pieces of me and being rejuvenated. This time I got a new energy, I found myself.
Nobody spoke about another part of this place, that part is the romantic and a serene place for couples. This trip was for the friends and loved ones. Taking a romantic walk on the beach where there’s just you and me is exactly the feeling you can get here. Standing on the beach where one side is the lush green forest and other is the vivid sea. Sitting on the beach when the sun is up and there’s none to disturb and you can talk and play with sand and enjoy the sun. Walking with the waves and feeling how they grow with the star studded sky above is one of the most magical moments.
Every moment liver here will be cherished in our heart. Every step taken together will be in the memory lane always. And every picture taken and captured will be a tattoo on the collar.
