Motichur

This popular pilgrimage is loaded with numerous budgeted holiday rentals and chic hotels, but staying at a dharamshala was an unmatched experience in my life. Every year whenever we visited Haridwar, me and my family stayed at Baba Harihar Dham – a dharamshala run by Delhi based ashram near Kamla Market. The accommodation is equipped with all the basic amenities giving you a complete hotel-like feel. At ground floor there is a big puja hall where aarti and bhajans are sung by the priests living in the dharamshala and students who are studying sanskrit literature in this sacred city of India. Outside the ashram, there is a food court or bhojanalaya where three times sattvic (vegetarian) meals are served not only to the tourists living in the ashram but also to sadhus or homeless people who are hungry. Feeding the needy is regarded as the best form of philanthropy in Hinduism.

After spending almost 4 hours here, I hopped on to my Hotel 'Urmi Haridwar' which is located in Motichur, 5 KM away from Main Haridwar. From my experience this is more like is guest house which is build in a residential area but the kind of hospitality I got here was amazing, staff was amazing & food was too good {no garlic or onions}, this is something which can't be explained in mere words, you have to taste it. ????
