Morning Bells ! Oops I got late it was 8:00 AM. I quickly got ready and informed the Reception about the same, they were quite friendly unlike some who charge customers on being late. I got my morning bed time coffee and got ready very quickly. I was still on time and I quickly paid up the tariff's and loaded my bags in the car with Mr. Nayyar. I had my breakfast and there onto Thekkady. I visited the beautiful Spice Gardens enroute which is just mind blowing and shopping for some spices which are farm grown, cannot be a better option. In Kerala, specially if you are concerned about spicy foods, you can prefer having Biryanis, Dosas with good Sambhars or spicy chatneys they serve. If you have a sweet taste preference, anything with Coconut garnishing is the best suggestion I could provide. So I checked-in the Wild Corridor in Thekkady. The view was fantastic, the hotel was on hills, one could see just trees on the hills and greenery was 100/100. Mist kept on adding to the beauty. I went to the Periyar Wildlife century to have a look of the Wild Animals the people boast on having a view of. I did see alot of animals in their wild habitats and I was quite happy to see them enjoying in their natural habitat. I just rested there in the evening and next day I had to again head to Kumarakkom. My dinner arrangements and next day Breakfast arrangements was supposed to be in the Hotel.

The elephant-capital of India, Thekkady's wild, natural beauty easily competes with the cultural gems of Kerala. Home to the Periyar Natural Reserve and numerous elephant camps, Thekkady is your tryst with Kerala's brimming wildlife. No matter where you begin and where you end, Thekkady is mandatory on a Kerala Itinerary.

From Cochin [often called by the name Ernakulam], it’s a 4-5 hour drive to either Thekkady or Allepey. If you’re into wildlife reserves, then Thekkady is not to be missed given that Periyar Tiger Reserve is present here. This is one of the places where nature is in it’s glory
Thekkady is the best place to observe wildlife. It is one of the dream destination for me. This place has all kinds of animals including deer, boar, lion, giraffe and other places to visit here are Spice garden where you have all the ayurveda medicine found. The Periyar lake is bliss along with the tea garden which is so huge . One can spend 1-2 days enjoying the view and beauty of Thekkady.
After early breakfast, checked-out from the hotel and we all went to Thekkady. On arrival, checked-in to the hotel Periyar Meadows and had lunch. In the afternoon, proceeded for a soul soothing boat cruise through the backwaters near Thekkady. Thekkady is known for its Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. During the cruise, stopped over at this fascinating town and observed the wild animals in their natural habitat. Later in the evening, visited the theatre and enjoyed the traditional Kathakali Show (in a non-air-conditioned theatre). Common activities which travellers do and we did too was indulge in shopping, take a tour around the Spice Plantations or enjoy an elephant ride in the evening. Returned to your hotel in the eveningand enjoyed a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel after a hearty dinner.
