We started from Madurai after having authentic breakfast in Vasantham Grand Madurai a famous place for morning breakfast Pongal, it's 3 hours drive from Madurai to reach thekkady. Roads journey is fun & beautiful . It's covered with coconut trees , Plain & smooth roads , traffic is also very less . We had booking in Club Mahindra thekkady for relaxation holiday & peaceful weekend .
After reaching the resort we had yummy lunch which was very light food. The chef made food as per our request which was not in menu .. this was good gesture.
We had opted the spa services . In evening snacks were send to our room complimentary by them . It was kela bhaji which tasted yummy & with chai we had .
Morning were as awesome as buffet breakfast .. after that we explore the resort . The best part of resort was there is no AC in all rooms and it's was cool because of huge and lovely plantation . You don't feel hot when u stay in resort even in march were temperature was around 30-35°c
Every tree in resort were name which was best to learn about plantation. They had their in-house grown spices plantation such as coffee , cinnamon, cardamom & many more . We did this resort walking .. it was really peaceful to see greens & have fresh air .
In afternoon as we had heavy buffet breakfast in morning , chef made yummy Samosa , Paneer Kathi roll & pastry which was cherry on top .
Evening was chilling with long drives , Ipl match & Dinner session was fun too in resort.
Mornings were quite interesting as we had buffet breakfast which was yummy & tummyfull !!
While on the roads coming back to Madurai we saw the kumily waterfalls !!
