- Sankat Mochan Temple, is dedicated to the God Hanuman, named “Sankat Mochan” meaning the “reliever from troubles”The temple was established by famous poet Tulsidas in the early 1500s and is situated on the banks of the Assi river. In the temple, one can relish on the special “besan ke ladoo” as prasad.
After spending quality time in Assi ghat I decided to visit famous Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple. I took rickshaw from Assi ghat to Sankat Mochan temple.
This temple dedicated to Hanuman ji is small but peaceful. You will not experience the rush that one invariably witnesses at Kashi Vishwanath temple. Avoid going on a saturday as it will be jam packed. It's great because you can take your time and do darshan for as long or less a time as you wish. A must visit for devotees and even otherwise.
