Isn't it exciting when you get a holiday mid week but then you get a thought as in what to do, where to go, when you have visited almost every place around you !!
With the early sunshine walk we headed to our breakfast date of bun masala omelette and Irani chai..waohh what a day to start with ,So while having breakfast we were browsing random places to check out near and by the time we had finished our breakfast we had decided to check out Jagtap waterfalls and Mau waterfalls..
We started from Pune, punched in the navigation to Jagtap falls, took the old Mumbai-Pune highway heading towards kanhe, the roads are in a pretty good condition, after you cross the toll naka (35rs for cars/free for bikes) keep an eye for kanhe exit and take a right, once you enter the village you will see Akshay city society on your left and as you reach further towards the falls you will pass by Mahindra industries, which means you are on the correct road. It takes around 1.5 hour max to reach the falls.
The road is very scenic till the falls with windmills on both sides, green farms, hardly any traffic, cool breeze all of a sudden the temp, the atmosphere changes around you..
At the falls, you have a restaurant besides the entry gate of the falls and you have an entry ticket (100) to the falls as it's managed by the Jagtap Agri-Tourism. They have made a step architecture at the falls so it becomes much easier to just sit and relax and enjoy the falls
(Just call them once before you go as the place is open only during monsoons due to good water flow which otherwise is closed if there is not much of a flow)
The place is very photogenic as it had the right combo of sunlight, shades and greenery when we had gone.
Just 2 mins ahead of Jagtap falls you have another small falls named Mau, where you can actually get behind the falls !! As it's a curved cliff and click some amazing pictures.
An average person spends 1 to 2 hours at the falls which we did too and headed back to Pune. We had a yummilicious lunch at the famous #GeorgeRestaurant You need to try out butter chicken kholapuri or there chicken tikka kholapuri along with mango mastani..too fulfilling..and headed back home.
It was a ideal half day trip with not much stress and can be back to office on the next morning !!
Total cost pp for trip was max 450rs.
