Day 1

Have you ever wondered how it feels to ride through the Clouds?
Today, I will be sharing my one such experience with you guys here on Tripoto... you can Follow me on Instagram ( @i_m_ashish_kumr) and watch my devkund stories there😉 ..

Devkund is beautiful waterfall in the bhira village. Even though the best time to visit this is in the Monsoons but be careful when you visit during monsoon as it is closed at times due to heavy flow of water.

The total distance is around 102 kms from Pune and one has to reach bhira village famous for tata power dad and then trek ahead for approx 1.5 to 2 hours. you will have to make an entry and take a guide.

The roads are good in the start but very poor afterwards and it is fun at times but one needs to be careful as well . Google maps will guide you. But you will need Idea or Airtel network as Jio does not work there.

We left early at 7 in the morning and we reached around 10.30 in the morning and parked our bikes.  Then We started our trekking from Bhira village. One is not permitted to enter the trekking zone without a guide since the path is not defined and chances are that one might get lost. So we took a guide and he charged us 150 per person ( we were a group of 6 people p.s. you can bargain )

Our guide told us it would be around 2 hours if we take too many halts in between or its just 1.5 hours. There are beautiful scenes on the way where you can click pictures or have nimbu paani to hydrate yourself but we were extremely slow so we took more than 2 hours clicking photos wherever possible , making videos and cherishing the moments.

Although the trek is simple to moderate level but there is one point where it gets too difficult to climb as its too steep and it gets tough walking in the muddy roads so ensure you have good quality shoes and make sure you do not carry a heavy backpack else you may miss out the fun of trek and suffer ,but its just for 10 15 mins then rest all is good enough to walk. Also you will get a bridge where u will need to pay 10 rs to cross.. sounds strange nah😅😅
(it is said that the bridge is made by village people so they charge that amount for development and maintenance of that bridge)

We reached waterfall at around 12:50. The scenes are really beautiful and breathtaking. The view is just amazing 😍. The water falling from the rocks and getting scattered by the wind and the moment it hits the rocks below it makes mesmerizing small little rainbows .

It is said that the water is too deep at some points and due to the rains the flow is high thus a rope is tied for people not to cross that rope as it may be too deep ahead and the water is directly falling from ahead so it may be risky.

You must carry extra clothes to bath in ice chilling water as its too cold once u enter. There are changing camps available for ladies to change clothes too.

One important thing to note is that  you will need to carry your own food or you can have maggie and vadapav which is near the waterfall (It is not hygienic so please carry your own food).

We had fun, clicked Instagram worthy pictures and made lot of memories enroute our trek back . It was around 4 pm that we reached the base camp i.e. the starting point.

Even though we had clicked photos while on the way to the falls but since the trek consists of various points where you can click lovely pictures we snekaed out from our guide and clicked more photos .

Our guide informed us that if one wants they can do camping at this place. If you plan to choose to stay in devkund at night, there are camping sites nearby bhira village. Although they charge a lot ( Rs. 1200 per head for a night) you can still bargain.

Since we planned for a day trip we left bhira village by 4.30 and left for Pune . We managed to reach Pune City by 7.30 pm and enroute it was pitch dark in the jungles and we were riding very slowly and cautiously managing to take some vision from each other bikes headlights.

We reached Pune City , had an amazing dinner and then went back to our respective homes and called it a day..!!
