Pink city -Jaipur
Jaipur is connected by most of major cities in India by Air/Rail/Road. So cheapest source will be train. Fastest will be by air.
Jaipur is always been welcoming city. You shall always find tourist from all pars of India and also lots of foreigners.
Most of places are within city limit and can be reached with public transport if you are staying near by Jaipur railway junction.
There is self driving option also available on Jaipur if you have valid driving license. It may cost you 400-500 per head excluding petrol or advance if any.
There are entry fee for major attractions prefer to buy comprehensive pass for all site which is valid for 2 days.
Cover Hawa mahal, jantar mantar, museum in first day. City palace have seperate entry fee.
There are lots of shop on Hawa mahal road just you have to bargain hard.
You can cover Nahargarh ,Amer fort, Jaigarh fort in single day as all there place are nearby. There are buses plying to amer fort. Leave early morning as there are lot to be seen here. Just opposite to amer fort you can climb upstair for bird eye view of Amer fort and sunset.
Catch night train from Jaipur to Bikaner which reaches around 8-9 am in morning.
Day in Bikaner
Reach Bikaner in morning. Here you also get bike on rent. Places to be seen are nearby station. Junagarh fort is easily reachable and you can auto- tuk tuk to reach there. Junagarh fort is much more to be seen. Its only place which is worth seeing in bikaner and in centre and rest of places are outside for which Bike can be hired.
Day2 in bikaner
Karni mata temple which is very famous know as Rat temple. There are buses plying to this mandir on regular interval. Catch bus to karni mandir and return by 12pm. We have heard of camel research centre in Bikaner. It one and only in India where you can see different camel and there breeds. Another interesting site is the jorbeed sanctuary where there are chances of seeing vultures. Though we could not found it but you can spot various birds here of you are bird lover.
That’s it for Bikaner so catch train for Jaisalmer at night which reaches 4-5 am in morning.
As you reach Jaisalmer you will notice the climate difference As it nearer to dessert.
In Jaisalmer there are entry fees for every place you visit. Even for mandir for foreigners have to pay fees. Also no shorts are allowed. Which I personally found very ridiculous.
Places to be seen are Jaisalmer fort, Jain temple, Jaisalmer museum, patwano ki haveli. There some another haveli also whose names you can found on google or Rajasthan tourism website.
All this places are in fort area only.
Other attractions are Vyas chatri famously know for sunset and you get bird eye view of city. Gadisar lake, chatri of all Maharaj. All this can be done in single day. You can hire tutktuk which cost me around 400.
Another must see is Jaisalmer war museum which is outside of city where there are tanks captured by Indian army during India Pakistan war. That’s proud moment.
There is tanot mata mandir 120km from jaisalmer for which one need army permit. Also there are camps runned by army at Tanit mata mandir for stay. Everything is excellent when ot comes to Indian army. Another attraction os sand dunes safari with traditional food and folk dance. As per my opinion one should visit samd dunes in winter or when there is fair during month of February runned by Indian army. Both this places require complete full day so need to have additional days. I could not this both due to tight schedule. Catch train to jodhpur which is most scenetic route. Also there are inly 4 train runs during while day between jaisalmer to jodhpur.
Jodhpur - blue city. In old city most of houses are coloured sky blue which catches the attraction a lot. Jodhpur mehran fort itself a architecture marvel and most beautiful fort of Rajasthan as per my opinion. It’s inly thing which is worth seeing .so spend as much as time you can. Rest are raani sa and padmsa lake at{ back door entry of fort.
There are clock tower , basically a local market surrounding it. A step well on the way to clock tower which is not at all maintain.
There is sunset point which I could found as its very congested and due to sweating I was exhausted and added to that I had mawa kachori (try at your own risk)
There is no direct train to Udaipur from Jodhpur only option is By road. You can book it online as there are lot of bus services ply on the route. Since Udaipur is well connected to most of nearby place and being last destination in my and with flight connectivity to Mumbai.
Since it was last destination I had prefer to spend my evening at Gangor ghat. The sunset from this spot very awesome and you should not miss having brunch at Zheel cafe with lake view at affordable price. City palace is which is palace come museum to be seen. Since it closes at 5.30pm try to be there well in advance. As there is no such carved or painted walls are there, so it nit worth but its one of the biggest palace in world developed in 3 stages by Rajput.
On morning I had decided to catch bus for chittorgarh. There are lot of government operated bus service which is very economical and best way to reach chittorgarh. From chittorgarh government bus depot you can get auto which will take to chittorgarh which is about 5-6 km and steep road. Chittorgarh is also one of the UNESCO heritage site. It is said that this this fort was built by Chandragupta maurya in one night. Vijaystamb built to celebrate victory is one of the architectural marvel and the view from top is breathtaking. When I had reach it was raining and complete chittorgarh was covered by fog. All the important place can be see by walking into the fort. So there is no need of hiring auto or cab as it will hurn hole in your pocket.
Since I have to return to Udaipur and it was raining I had not searched for nearby place to visit. Chittorgarh itslef is awesome and it would have been great to click if it was not raining
I have decided to rent bike for day as there is no direct buses or train available to reach kumbhalgarh. The fort built by Great warrior of time Maharana Pratap. The road was very scenetic and must travel. The fort startegic location makes it impossible to see it from far. Though I was reaching kumbhalgarh but not able to trace the glimpse of it. So it will confused you till you reach. Fort has entry fee which is very nominal and have parking facility also added to advantage. It has second largest safety wall ever built in history after wall of china.
This day is last day in Rajasthan. So Inhad walked in Gulab garden which opens at 7am in morning for walk. Thats best way to end your trip in nature company. You can heard lots of bird chirping and breath fresh air which is rare in city. As airport is far from city but thanks to Uber and ola as thats only option ti reach airport.
See you Rajasthan- Padharo mhare Des in true sense.
