Day 2

Day-2 Jaipur to Ajmer

After having breakfast at our hotel in Jaipur we resumed our road journey to Ajmer which is at 150km distance from Jaipur. We reached Ajmer in 2.5 hours crossing 3 tolls which costed total of Rs160/- amount.

Stay in Ajmer

Ana Sagar lake is a beautiful artificial lake around which you can walk and click pictures. There's nothing else to do than just either walk around or sit at one place. Options to eat or shop is also limited near lake area. It is better to visit this place either early morning or evening time.

If the story is true, then this structure is created in 2.5 day which in hindi is dhayi(2.5 days) thereby this place name is Adhai din ka Jhonpra. This is a ruined structure which is open for islamic prayer. The passage to reach this place is extremely narrow and congested due to crowd and lot of shops. The possibility to get parking near by is nearly zero. I would not suggest to visit this place in Ajmer.

Pushkar lake is at a distance of 10-15km from Ajmer and takes about 30min to reach so we decided to cover this places as well. Personally i loved the vibes of this place. It feels good to sit on the stairs of pushkar lake and experience peace and calmness. A little pooja was also performed by a priest for us on pushkar lake. We offered our respect to the holy water of pushkar lake. You should definitely include this in your itinerary of ajmer/Pushkar.

Places to eat

We booked our room in Ajmer on arrival. We were able to get a room at "Hotel Mewar Estate". It is a heritage property which costed us 3800/- for a day including breakfast. The room was spacious with massive bathing area including bath tub and shower area, water cooler was also present in the room but the service was average. This property also has open farm house area which invites wedding/reception functions. We were able to witness one from our room balcony. Sad part, we were not carrying any party wear clothes to crash a reception function :P . The menu looked scrumptious.

The next day on checkout morning, breakfast spread was limited to basic parathas, toast and tea/coffee but tasted good.

Places visited in Ajmer

Surprisingly there are lot of good restaurant to eat at in Ajmer. We had our lunch at a dhabba near pushkar lake and for dinner we went to "The Mango curry" which is really a good place to eat at. They have one pure veg and few non-veg restaurant and one bakery all in one place. You should definitely eat at this place to treat your taste buds with lot of flavors.

After having dinner we went to our room to relax and boost our self for our next day journey directly to Udaipur <3.
