Day 1

Hello friends, myself Payal Awasthi, by proffession lawyer and by heart traveller..I ll share my experience of exploring Chansal valley from Shimla (my in laws place) in our scorpio ( the only vehicle {4/4} i ll suggest which will take you to chansal easily ) from the route Shimla-Theog-Kotkhai-Rohru-Larot-Chansal valley(approx 160 kms) alongwith my husband to celebrate his big day i.e 13/7/2019 . So like his birth in queen of hills justify his intrest towards mountains. Like I wonder how could somebody can like mountains so desperately that his reply of my every question of where we are going baby?? Ends upto to hillstation..

so again he wanted to go to a place away from all hosh posh and towards the hills on his bday.

We started our journey in the evening from shimla on 12/7/2019 and reached Rohru rest house(we usually stays in Hp rest houses as my husband is a govt employee at Himachal itself)by 7 PM. The distance of rohru from shimla is 109 km. Our first day ends here only. Though i wouldnt recommend you to stay at rest house as its in very hustle and market area of Rohru.

Day 2

So its 13/7/2019 and bday of Mr.hubby. We started our journey today from Hatkoti mata temple. Hatkoti is also famous for Hateshwari temple and Sawra Kuddu Hydro Electric Project (111 MW). Its is situated on the bank of river pabbar. Being the meeting point of three streams- Bishkulti, Raanvati with Pabbar River, it is a sacred site for the Hindus. . The Hatkoti Temple is an abode of goddess Mahishasurmardini, an incarnation of goddess Durga or Parvati.

Afterwards we started our journey towards Chanshal valley. The roads were normal till Larot but afterwards it worsen. Frankly speaking there were no roads. Department had cut the hills to make the roads but i guess its like next to impossible to construct roads over there. The road was full of sand, mud and water. ओर सोने पर सुहागा तो तब हुआ जब हमारी सुबह बरसात के साथ हुई ????

Our average speed on thise roads was 12-15 kms per hour. After

10-12kms we found road full of mud and water bcoz of the rain. But i will call myself lucky bcoz as we reached Chansal all rainy weather just vanished and we got to see the 360• degree view of the pass. we found a signboard of 3750 mtrs written on it. So finally we were on this height with a pictureseque, majestic, awesome view. We spent some time there and had a world class awesome maggi and chai..(i will suggest everyone to have maggi there) we had that tasty maggy only for 50 bucks..So cheap isnt it.

Something about Chansal valley from google devta- The Chanshal Pass, or Chanshal Valley, links Dodra Kwar and Rohru (Chirgaon) in the Shimla district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The pass sits atop Chanshal Peak, which at 4,520 metres (14,830 ft) is the highest peak in the Shimla district. The pass remains open from May to October and is covered with snow for the rest of the year.

So after spending almost 2 hours and taking some breathtaking pictures we came back to our home In shimla.
