7 day trip to Nepal - Adventure, Heritage, Pubs & Nature Some quick things about Nepal (specifically from an Indian traveler's perspective) 1) Indian currency can be used at 80% of the places including shopping outlets by the roadside 2) 500- 1000 Re notes are not allowed, only 100 and denominations less than that 3) Food takes incredibly long to come to your table, average time after placing an order is around 25-30 mins, and if you order in two rounds you will end up watching the ceiling for a long time to go 4) Road travel is the best means of transport however be aware that the average speed on highways is about 25- 30 kmph, it may be much longer in case of traffic jam (mostly due to an accident) 5) In Apr, its cold in the mornings and nights but afternoons are very warm 6) Alcohol (& especially beer) is avaialble everywhere in Nepal, it would be a stupid idea to buy anything at the Duty free shop ;) 7) All cafe's, however small have free wifi, get in - ask for Wi-Fi password and chill out...
