Day 1

The journey was great so far, I had been cruising on my motorbike along the east coast road of Tamil Nadu. With two vlogs made already I felt more confident than I was when I had started this journey.

It was time to leave the island town of Rameswaram and ride towards my next destination and the place I had in mind was the fishing town of Tuticorin.

Like always I had packed my bag (it was just 2 pairs of clothes and some cameras) loaded it on my bike and started riding towards Tuticorin which was just 150 KMS away from Rameshwaram along the coastal line.

The weather was so pleasant that I kept cruising in such a pase that I actually rode past Tuticorin and I did not realise that untill I was a long way ahead. So I stopped for a bit and thought about turning back but I dont know what stopped me I did not feel like making the u-turn and that's how I headed into the beautiful town of Tirunelvelli.

Where did I stay?

Dvarakapuri farm house.

A farm house that felt like home with huge space and trees everywhere and also a pump set where people can have a chilling bath.

The owner of the place who has so much experience travelling himself and also a automobile enthusiast made my stay even more special by guiding me around the place and discussing about bikes and cars.

Cost of food?

Average cost breakfast - (home made)4 pieces idly one masala vada and a coffee for 25-30 Rs.

Average cost lunch - full chettinadu non veg meals with chicken pieces egg and apparam sweets at 80- 120 Rs.

Places of interest?

Papanasam shiva temple

Agastiyar falls

Tamarabarani river

Manimutharu dam

Agricultural farms river streams and pure nature.

It was almost the end of December and the climate was an added advantage which kept me out riding most of the time. The first day was my rest day so was just resting and walking around a bit. On the second day after having a heavy breakfast I started out to explore and covered the Papanasam shiva temple, Agastiyar waterfalls which kept me busy the entire day.

More than exploring what I wanted to do here was just to sit and enjoy the sounds of nature which was more worth and meaningful to me than anything else.

On the third day there was a bit of rain but that did not stop me from heading towards the Manimutharu dam. Climbing the dam was a very difficult task for me taking the height into consideration. Ah not only the steps I had to cover to get to the top but also my stamina and fitness playes a major roll in the climb but that also gave me the content for my next vlog in which I have recorded me climbing all the steps to get to the top and the view I saw on the top of the dam was mesmerizing and made all my pain go away at once. For sometime I turned off my camera and just sat there enjoying the view and forgetting myself and completely surrendering to nature.

I stayed there untill sunset and to my advantage I was all alone there so I got a lot of self time and due to the darkness factor I decided to head back to the farm house as soon as the sun got down.

This experience was something that made me feel light in my heart and gave me a good nights sleep.

Though I stayed for an extra day after this wonderful experience I still had to leave the following day because the next destination was waiting out there for me.

I said my goodbyes with the promise that I will come back and meet the owner and his family again someday and I was all set geared up and ready to leave the place and nature gave me a signal through a heavy shower of rain which I interpreted as my stop sign that is nature was telling me not to go yet. But a traveller must keep going on so though the showers were heavy I put on the first gear and made the move onto the roads that are always out there waiting for me.
