Chikmagalur is a hill station in Karnataka and just 5 hour drive from Bengaluru. Chikmagalur being in the foothills of Karnataka's highest peak Mullayanaguri is perfect for a quick scenic getaway from Bangalore on a weekend. I and my husband had booked our stay at Eagle eye holiday resorts. This resort is approximately 60 km from chikmagalur town. The resort provides complimentary package including plantation walk, early morning trek, fishing and boating activities for the price paid for the accommodation. We started out of Bengaluru at around 9 AM on NH 75. The route we took was Bengaluru - Nelamangala - Hassan - Mudigere - Belur - Chikmagalur.
We stopped for a quick breakfast at Hotel Dhruvathare on NH 75. The Restaurant has good food, quick service, good ambience and ample parking space.
Then we started our onward journey to our resort and reached there around 2 pm for lunch.
The resort charges are all inclusive of meals, breakfast lunch and dinner. The charges are per day per person based and varies for different type of accomodations. They serve Buffet meals with widespread options for vegetarian and non vegetarian and also south and North Indian cuisine.
We checked into our beautiful Tree House , took some rest and then strolled around the resort. The resort has wonderful views of nearby peaks, the forest.
The resort arranges fire camp with music every evening followed by buffet dinner.
We started Day 2 with scrumptious breakfast and spent some time at indoor games area playing table tennis, carrom and other board games.
After lunch we left towards Mullayanaguri peak. The peak was around 80 km away from our resort and took 2 hours to reach as it's Ghat section with difficult turns!
The drive to the peak has breathtaking views. Since we visited in monsoon we experienced drizzles and fog covered peaks and trees.
En route you can stop for pictures, for enjoying some views. Places like baba budangiri, seethalayyangiri are nearby to mullayangiri.
In the evening we headed back to the resort and enjoyed the campfire and music. The resort serves food and drinks by the campfire in open space.
On the last day of our vacation, we checked out of the resort and hit the road towards Bengaluru!
