After living life king size and availing all the luxurious facilities in a Bengaluru resort, a business from Andhra Pradesh suddenly vanished without anyone's knowledge. The resort is located in Devanahalli in Bengaluru, where the man by the name K Rajesh had been residing for almost 41 days.
The resort management has lodged a complaint with the police for deceiving a bill amounting to almost INR 3.2 lakhs.
The sequence of incidents that happened at the resort
The man K Rajesh is a resident of Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. He had ben staying at the resort since July, 2021. He has introduced himself as a realtor running multiple businesses. By September, his bill amount was INR 8 lakh, which he paid off. He continued to stay at the resort since then.
As per the latest reports, Yeshwant, the manager of the resort stated, “Rajesh has been a regular customer since mid-2020 and often stayed in a single room for 3-4 days. A couple of times, he stayed for one or two months. Each time, he had promptly paid bills for rooms as well as for the food. On July 23, he checked into a room. The rent per day came up to Rs 7,850. He cleared the bill up to September 30 and told me that he would extend his stay for business purposes. Being an old customer and making prompt payments, he was allowed to continue staying without making any advance".
On 11th November, the man left the resort in his car and did not return till now.
The Investigation on the incident
After the complaint lodged by the resort managment, the man has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 420 and 406 for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property and criminal breach of trust respectively.
The police had enquired and scrutinised 10 more people on the basis of the call record details. The probe revealed that Rajesh had dodged and cheated all of them of a good amount of money before escaping from the resort. Surprisingly, the man has not left a single trace behind except the call records.
A complete bizarre incident
The resort management was extremely shocked after the incident. Being a regular visitor, they did not expect such kind of a situation. He had been paying off his bills at regular intervals. But then he fled away without even informing the staff and with no hint on his whereabouts.
The man, K Rajesh, was prompt in paying off all his room and food bills. Hence the management had been trusting him and had allowed him to continue his stay. The resort management even did not ask for any advance amount because of his loyalty. The incident had been a bizarre one which the resort management is finding hard to believe. Even the amount pending is high about INR 3.2 lakhs which need to be retrieved from the man.
We need to wait for further investigations from the police. Hope the police can trace the man back and the resort is able to recover the full due amount from him.
