Great Wall at Juyongguan
Pick up at 9 am to see the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall, the closest part of the Great Wall to Beijing which takes about one hour. The best thing to see this part of the Wall is that it's only 2 minutes walk to the actual Wall from the Parking Lot. Juyongguan is one of the three great passes of the Great Wall which is roughly circular with a perimeter of 4,142 meters.
Enjoy lunch in a local non-tourist restaurant after walking on the Wall for 1.5-2 hours. Then drive to Changling, the biggest and best-preserved one of the Thirteen Ming Tombs. It is the tomb for the 3rd Ming Emperor Zhudi and his wife Empress Xu.
Continue the tour by driving to Dingling, the only tomb that has been excavated among the Thirteen Ming Tombs. It also remains the only imperial tomb excavated since the founding of the People's Republic of China (1949). It is the tomb for the 13th Ming Emperor Wanli who had the longest ruling time among all the 16 Ming Emperors.
