Day 1

Try yourself in a thrilling  Canyon valley trek, its in the awesome beauty of the hills of Maharashtra!

Canyon Valley waterfalls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sahyadri located between Lonavala and Khandala.
Height of waterfall is about 320 ft. and it rises along the Ulhas River, from Khandala till Karjat.

There is a huge waterfall down the valley where you can have your packed Lunch, Swim for a while and spend min 1 hour before you start ascending the valley.

The waterfall is a popular destination for trekkers from Mumbai and Pune.
The major highlight of the trek is, trek through the dense forests and Waterfalls/Waters stream on the way and at the last glimpse of the one of the most beautiful waterfalls ever!

Difficulty Level - Medium (not easy for first time Trekker)..
When to Trek - best time Nov to Feb
You can Trek in March to May, but climate is too hot in this time and you will need lotttt of Energy.
Not to trek in Rainy season (June to Oct), it's dangerous.

Route
There are 2 options

1) Local from Pune or Mumbai (which is most popular and cost Saving)
2) Self Vehicle

Whatever may be your mode of transportation, reach Ambethan, park your bike or car (parking will be on self risk)
Follow the road which takes you to Social Welfare centre.
From there will be actual starting point of this beautiful Trek.

The Trek starts with a huge descending, just ensure that your foot is placed on stiff rock and not on sand, it's just a 60 to 70 feet patch, move on slowly and carefully and then you get entry to the dense forest and water streams.
There are small small waterfalls, Caves and Crystal clear ponds, where you can take pics.
Then continue your descending through rocks by climbing and Jumping, now throughout the trek there is no Trail, whole trek will be climbing and Jumping on Rocks.
Before you reach the base of the valley, there are 3 difficult Rock patches, out of which rope is already tied to 2 rock patches, you need to be careful while rappelling the 2 small Rock patches. it will take around an hour to descend the valley.
Take the left turn after completing the descending of Valley and move on, from here you will get the amazing view of the valley, and you will reach waterfalls in 20 mins if you not busy in clicking pics of the valley.
After reaching waterfalls, take pics, have your lunch, play in Waters for some time and take rest for some time.
The water here is really hard water, you will loose huge amount of energy in swimming and playing in water, just ensure that you swim or play for limited time and save your energy, because next part of the Trekking is ascending and here you need lot of energy.

The return route won't be the same and it will take you to Khandala and Trekking route will be ascending.
On the way of return journey, there's a stream and water pond to pass and  hardly one person can walk through the edges by catching the rocks. The beautiful view of the water stream was worth spending the time just looking at it and relaxing.
Continue the ascending, you will need around 3 hrs to reach the top.
From there take auto to your car or railway station and back to home.

After finishing the trek, believe me you will feel proud about yourself because the trek is not that easy and you will have life long memories of this Amazing Waterfall.
