Have you ever experienced a monsoon filled trip? I haven't in my lifetime. And the trip to Coorg with Monsoon included was a treat to the eyes where you can witness lush greenery and fantastic weather.

So the itinerary for our trip was Dubare Elephant Camp, Cauvery Nisargadhama, Bylakuppe (Tibetian Monestary), Chiklihole Dam, Abbey Falls, Mandalpatti View point and finally in Madikeri ( Fort and Raja's Seat).

Day 1

We reached Madikeri on 9th June early morning 4 a.m. by bus from Bangalore (you get only Non-AC ones to Coorg). There was a one hour journey ahead to Kushalnagar, where we booked our hotel.

So, Day 1 started with heading towards Dubare Elephant Camp and it was already raining and we were a bit late too. I can share you the view at that time.

Unfortunately, we couldn't witness any elephants there due to the overflow of River Cauvery. Having breakfast there, we took a visit to this river and the currents generated due to winds.

Next destination was a cable suspension bridge which was on the way to Cauvery Nisargadhama

To talk about Cauvery Nisargadhama, it is just a natural park where you get to see some statues and deers ofcourse (only that was the best part). We had a long walk inside and we had to pass through the same type of cable suspension bridge shown above where the crowd was too much ( I got dizziness due to this).

Third and the last destination for the Day 1 was Bylakuppe, the Tibetian Monastery.

It was nice to see a Tibetian based community residing here in Coorg and these people are so kind-hearted. One of the monks collected all the waste food from a restaurant to feed to the stray dogs out there. Hope we too cultivate such habit.

Post this, we headed to the hotel as it was raining still and wrapped it up for Day 1.

Day 2. We had a complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel and then we headed to Chiklihole dam. And god, it started raining again when we headed towards the dam.

Chiklihole Dam was just a treat to the eyes with all the greenery and the rain.

Abbey Falls was on the list next.

In order to see the falls overflow, the perfect time is to visit during monsoon time. And it didn't disappoint us, it was full of overflow of water.

We stayed here for around 15-20 mins to take some videos of the falls and to enjoy the beauty of it.

After this, we headed towards Mandalpatti View Point for which you need to hire a jeep separately which costed us 1500 bucks for a round trip journey. As it was already raining, it was quite difficult for us to be there at the viewpoint. The wind was quite strong and there was full of mist. I can show you the picture of the place with mist covered and not covered one.
