Day 1

Sri Lanka is a cluster of islands. The scenic views, crystal clear water and the gorgeous sandy shores make you want to revisit the beautiful beaches in and around Sri Lanka.

Close to Colombo, Hikkaduwa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka located in the Southern Province.

Hikkaduwa beach is majorly known for Untouched Nature’s Bounty. It is famous for Snorkeling and meeting-feeding giant green sea turtles. These wild turtles are completely free and they have been known to visit a certain point of the shore to feed on the seaweed and lay their eggs for many years.

A local guide is always present to help you out, answer questions and make sure no tourists touch the turtles. If you touch the turtles, they get allergic reactions on their skin, and many of the turtles have marks on their heads etc. which is really sad.

If you love to study or want to know more about wildlife, visit this beach, where you can learn some facts about the turtles and the Coral life at the Coral sanctuary where the turtle eggs are buried in the sand for hatching.
