Guwahati, Assam is the heart of North East India . Most of the places are easily accessible from there . So when I was planning to ride to Meghalaya, I had to come to Guwahati and start the ride from here .
The roads in the city may be jammed with traffic but if you are in the monsoon time , you might witness the Brahmaputra booming and swelling high and the exquisite weather with the romance of the clouds is an icing on the cake .
Shillong , capital of Meghalaya is approximately 100kms from Guwahati travelling via NH-6. The road condition are amazing and riding seems like a walk on the park. Shillong is situated at an altitude of about 1500metres above sea level with the beautiful and green East Khasi Hills in the backdrop. The first hotspot when you reach Shillong is Umiam Lake equally serene and majestic in its nature.
The video beneath takes you to the road from Guwahati to Shillong (Umiam Lake) . Turn by Turn enjoy the hills and weather .
