After visited many hill station in the North. If I make my list in terms of hill stations then undoubtedly manali would be on top normally i don't travel on same place. Manali is different. Around 3 time I have visited but every time manali offers you something different. In the year 2016 , 2018 & 2021 I visited manali. Two times I went through public transport ( bus) one time by car. It will take around 10 to 12 hour journey by bus or car from delhi.
So according to my knowledge I am telling you the places you can visit.
MALL ROAD ---- every hill station has its own mall road. Here at mall road you have best food, shopping, walk etc. Once you are in manali then mall road walk is must.
Hidimba devi temple comes in old manali.
It around 3 to 5 kilometer from the mall road. It's a beautiful wooden temple in old manali
According to the legend hidimba was the wife of bheem. It's a must watch temple in manali. Temple area surrounded by pine trees. So much green area here. In winter you can find so much snow here.
This temple belong to sage ( rishi ) vashisth. At this place he did his religious rituals. This is beautiful temple around 8 to 10 kilometer from mall road manali. At this temple I found hot water geyser (natural) this hot water contains body healing properties.. A dip is must if you are at this temple.
This waterfall is close to vashisth temple. But you need to do around 2 kilometer treak from the main road. But believe me once you reach. It's totally worth it. It's so amazing. At this waterfall ....
If you love adventure then this velly welcomes you with open arms. In winter you can go paragliding, skiing, Zorbing, atv riding, horse riding etc . It becomes so alive in winter. This is around 15 to 18 kilometer from manali
. Here is an old temple as well but you need to do some treak for that.
This pass connect manali to leh Ladakh. This is paradise I must say. The curve, the roads full of snow, extreme weather, cold, view everyone should come & visit this in a lifetime. Normally this pass stay close for around 6 month. This is a high altitude pass.
This modern day engineering marvel. One of its kind in India. Now manali will be connected with leh and lahaul spite through out the year. Special credit goes to this tunnel. This is 6 to 8 kilometer long tunnel. Now ladakh & Himachal connected with other through out the year. Just after when you pass the tunnel you can visit the village called sissu. Here you see big glacier, waterfall, beas river etc.
There are some offbeat places also you can visit. . . This is one of the best hill station in India in my opinion.
