This trip was all of this and more...
We all had just woken up, some twenty minutes back. Amidst that beautiful morning sunshine, nobody was willing to turn the geyser on and wash off their morning slumber. I could see some amazing leftover feelings of the previous night’s sleep in the tents in all my friends’ eyes.
The owner of the house served piping hot tea with cookies, milk rusks and puffs. What more could one ask for. Not too hungry for a heavy breakfast – some of us decided to stuff ourselves in a car and take a bath in the nearby waterfall – giving others’ the luxury of hot geyser water, perfumed body washes and warm towels ;). A friend who was unduly excited for a dip in the water was seen getting his clothes back on after feeling the iciness of the water, though the rest of us walked into the pool of water.
After a good two hours of full-blown madness and laughter, we stepped out of water, gathered our stuff and headed back to our camp.
In the camp, we had some divine breakfast waiting for us.
Over the next few hours, we just floated in the sunlight, filling our guts with food and our lungs with crisp air. It’s that part of your time when little events become exceptional and ordinary sensations are heightened. It’s that part of your time when everything is Heaven!
And you want no one to take that away from you, no schedules, no treks planned, no fixed lunch timings, no routines – just pure and luxurious strolling in the hills.
Some of us went for a hike, some went shopping for snacks and savories and some laid back in hammocks to let the day roll away in stillness.
As soon as the night took out the sun, everybody was advised to be warm and cozy. But the spirits was still soaring high and nobody was willing to call it a day. Over the next few hours, we played a dozen songs on the guitar – some new memories were created, some old ones were revisited!
Great green tents standing stout with their amazing grandeur shone across a sooty black sky and the roasted flames of our bonfire. Even an inch away from the fire was chilling. So all of us circled around the bonfire, holding our hot drinks, humming some old forgotten songs. It was surreal to see that people from two generations gelled up like carrot & peas.
Every night that we guys spent there, the dining lounge was the most sought-after thing. It was grandly laid out to just entice the senses enough to be ready for an exotic range of sumptuous food.
