The village is situated above the confluence of the rivers Chandra and Bhaga in the Pattan valley. Tandi, about 8 kilometres from Keylong is one of the valley’s beautiful locations, with plenty of natural beauties and legendary legends. Set at the confluence of the rivers Chandra and Bhaga, it offers magnificent views.

History

The naming and confluence of the Tandi Rivers are numerous stories. From this path, the brothers Pandav and their bride Draupadi began to go up to heaven. Draupadi slid away from the same location and perished in human form and could not reach the sky. From that time on Tan Dehi has been known, meaning in human form and the Tandi term is the same version.

Another myth concerning the junction of the two rivers states that the two offspring Moon and Sun, who wished to marry, respectively, were Chandra and Bhaga. Both took their separate way, reached Tandi and finally got married. The confluence recalls a legendary love storey which improves its attractiveness.
