I always love exploring the flavours of a destination I travel to. While the street food scenes and markets are a favourite of mine, I love a wholesome meal at a restaurant or cafe too! I feel it's the food that captures and reflects the city's true vibe, accurately.

South East Asian cuisine being one of my favourites, it was only natural to focus a large portion (pardon the pun) of my trip on trying new food!

When my kind friend was helping me put together the plan, my singular request was - street food, and lots of it! She did not disappoint!

Kuala Lumpur is filled with great eats, at the malls and on the street.

The first thing I tried was yoghurt with a host of different toppings to choose from! Think ice cream but with interesting options like salted caramel and sprinkles - just yummy!

I was constantly reminded to eat very little because I had a lot to cover in just a few days!

My next favourite, bubble tea! Boba is life, especially when you have a ton of different options. Once you try bubble tea at Chatto, you're not going to want any other. The quality is superior to anything else you find back home, in India.

How can you be in Malaysia and not try Laksa - a traditional bowl of wholesome fulfillment? Assam Laksa is a must try, with its tangy flavours, delicious broth and chicken that hugs the soupy goodness that will make you want to slurp it away instantly!

If you love Thai cuisine and want to try everything in one meal, head to Aroii Thai. This neat concept lets you try bite sized bowls of multiple dishes. You can chomp away to endless happiness.

I particularly liked their version of anchovies - covered in batter with a sweet crunch, it's probably one of the best snacks to have.

I also loved their version of Pandan chicken:

Finally, if you're not already rolling on the floor with a full stomach, head to a great Korean place with mammoth size portions! The ramen will give you something to rave about - available in beef, pork and chicken.

Best enjoyed with chopsticks, the food at a mall can help introduce your palate to Malaysia's eclectic food scene in a jiffy! This is best followed up by street food/cafe hopping! Stay tuned for the next editions covering the foodie's paradise that is Kuala Lumpur!
