La Plage, a stones' throw from the sea

Immaculate and fringed by coconut palms, the Marari beach touches the periphery of the La Plage resort by the sea. Less than 200 feet across the golden sands, the waves of the Arabian Sea wash its shores. Regardless of the arrival of tourism on its shores, the little village of Mararikulam continues its modest existence, and you can watch fishermen cast out to sea, and later bring in their catch.

Kerala cuisine at La Plage is finger licking and prepared with spices grown locally in the state, and tempered to suit your gusto. Ingredients are freshly sourced from local markets. Tastefully prepared Continental and Indian cuisine are included in the menu, for more familiar flavours. You can also request the Chef to prepare fresh fish you have bought directly from the fishermen. Do try the duck curry.

Best time to go

October through March are the cooler months to visit Marari. April and May are warm in the afternoon and pleasant in the mornings and evenings. The rains between June and September make swimming in the sea unsuitable, though you can still splash in the water along the shore.
