This trip was not pre-planned like my other trips. Just wanted to get away from the work & city life and we choose Kerala as our destination. My love for lakes, beaches and backwaters was fulfilled in this so called God's Own Country.
The Place is overlooking Vembanad lake which offers wonderful view with lush green space and beautiful lake facing swimming pool. Room Size is good but they should improve their interior setup. Food & hospitality is average.
Stayed here for 2 day/ 1 night but never wanted to leave. This resort gives you best of everything. Food, hospitality, View & amenities. Stayed in Lake & Swimming pool facing room and enjoyed every bit of it.
We started from Bangalore on 7th Feb 2016 at around 8:45 am and landed at Cochin international airport by 9:45 am. As we were hungry we had our breakfast at Airport Food Court. The lady serving the dishes welcomed us by realizing we were tourist and new to the city and served the food with smile and warmth which i have never seen in any other city. We finished our food and went to airport bus stop. It was decided that we will not spent more on transportation and thus took bus to Fort Kochi (Runs every hour or half from International airport) Our Travel Cost Details are as mentioned below
Transportation Cost:
- Home to Bangalore Airport-Rs870/-
- Bangalore to kochi- Rs 1400 per person( We took flight because bus would cost us near about same and will consume more time. Trains were not an option for non availability and time consumed)

We reached Fort Cochin at 12:30 pm and were heading towards the much talked tourist attraction of Fort Kochi " The Chinese Fishing Net" The sight of the Chinese nets, suspended in mid air and standing in line on the beaches,is breathtakingly beautiful. It is, undoubtedly, one of the most photographed sights in Kochi. Best time to visit is during sunset.
We were to head towards Kumarakom for our booked resort and thus we started looking for Bike on rent and Found the following contact to rent two wheeler for three days
After Getting our vehicle we took beach side road to reach muhamma via cherthala. The roads are well maintained and offered beautiful landscape & Picturesque backwaters throughout the journey. After reaching Muhamma Jetty point overlooking Vembanad Lake ,we boarded the jetty with our vehicle to reach Kumarakom Jetty Point. The ride was about 40 mins and again presented best of nature and added one more star to kerela Memory lane.
Our resort was 0.5 km from Kumarakom Jetty point . The sight of our resort brought smile on our faces. The property was well maintained with lush great green space . The swimming pool was again a picturesque one. The room offered was average for the price payed. But the view made all good for the money spent
After Spending two days/ 1 night at the resort enjoying all of nature & what resort has to offer, we headed to Mararikulam Beach as planned. The journey was around 45 mins on road.
From the narrow lane on beach road we reached our much awaited destination and top on our list Mararikulum Beach. The first site of beach made us realized that we are gonna spend more time here than planned. We spent a glowing afternoon on a near-empty beach, watching the waves and taking dips at interval.
After three hours we took the beach road to further explore what alleppy has to offer in terms of beach and reached Thumpoly and Alappuzha beaches.
Thumpoly beach again is an extension to Mararikulum but with some rocks . Alappuzha beach was crowded but again white sand and with great view.
Headed back towards kochi on the same beach road to reach our next stay at "Ramada Resorts, Kochi". On the way to the same we explored the Andhakaranazhi Beach and backwaters with traditional fishing net and farming villages. Reached Ramada at 4 pm and were mesmerized again with the resort, its pool, its view & finally its room. Worth for the price payed. Our Stay Cost is as below:

Next day post check out we searched some hotels/restaurant to offer best lunch and found a great place to cherish the taste, ambiance and hospitality called Cafe 17. To sum up this experience I will certainly re quote Kerala as "God's Own Country" with welcoming people & places. The beauty of its landscape is mesmerizing and will give you that refreshing air away from city life. A much needed break awaits you.
