Matheran is a small hill station in Maharashtra's Raigad district ,an ideal getaway near Mumbai and Pune .It is located on the Western Ghat ranges,in an elevation of around 800 meter above sea level..It is an eco sensitive region  and Asia's only automobile-free hill station..

Matheran means  'forest on the top' .. The best thing about this place is like quite and relaxing  with no buzzing of horns and pollution.

It contains some mesmerizing panoramic view points..to visit all the points, have to either walk or take horse ride..
Old British style architecture is preserved in Matheran..
This place is a treat for photographers
as well as every travelers to explore the best of the beauty of the beautiful hill station..

Neral is the nearest railway station in Matheran.
While travelling by road tourists need to park their vehicles at Dasturi Naka..to reach Matheran from Dasturi Naka tourists have to walk or can take horse ride..
One can  get Toy Train ride also from Aman Lodge to Matheran.

Though Matheran has a pleasant climate throughout the year,the best time to visit is between September to April..
It's especially beautiful in monsoon when the waterfalls nearby are at their roaring best and the deep forests are green and lush..
