As a kid, I eagerly waited for the monsoon because it meant that our annual trip to Mahabaleshwar was on the cards. Dad always made sure that we got the best room in our favourite resort, weeks before. And surprisingly we always got the same room which became our 'home away from home'.

There was something really special about this resort that brought us back to its cosy cottages, delicious breakfasts, foggy pathways, and the bonfires at night. It was like a bundle of happiness tucked in the lush green Sahyadri range. Maybe it was about close proximity to nature. Hence, even after so many years, we still miss the pampering we received by the place.

It is said that happiness can't be found because it is waiting for you at the most unlikely places.

So what if I told you that there is a place in Mexico where happiness is waiting for your knock? Bingo! You won't have to search for happiness anymore because it's right there up for grabs.

Awakening

Awakening will become the world's first boutique hotel that focuses on the 'awakening of the human soul' through maximum interaction with the nature.

The banks of Nopalitos Lagoon is the location of this luxurious property. It may look like a beach in the Bahamas, but in fact, it's a cenote created by a fallen asteroid.

The Idea

We humans, tend to travel to far lands in order to rekindle our relationship with nature.

Awakening, with its splendid architecture that blends with our desire to stay connected with mother nature, aims to awaken the failing human interaction with the planet, people, and most importantly ourselves.

The venture is the brainchild of Adriana Chardi and her partner Martin Loeffler who share the same vision of building hotels focused on human development.

The Architecture & Design

Awakening will be built right next to Sian Ka'an, a biosphere reserve and a world heritage site, located in Riviera Maya.

The architect of this place takes inspiration from cocoons with the elements of 'sacred geometry' & 'biomimicry'. When combined, these elements will give guests a deeper understanding of the universe because of their natural forms.

The interiors of the individual cocoons will be called as 'barefoot luxury'. The interiors are designed to comfort you while giving an extraordinary experience of living close to nature.

Sustainability

While the cocoon takes care of the human development, the architects and designers have made sure that structure in itself is sustainable and minimizes environmental impacts.

High-end water treatment, effective waste management, and the use of clean energy are some of the factors that make this boutique hotel a sustainable place.

Awakening will be a major breakthrough for the hotel industry that is constantly thriving towards giving unmatched experience to its guests.
