Day 1

Ujjain, the City of Temples is one of the Important Religious Place in India to Visit. Sited on the banks of Holy River, Shipra, Ujjain is also a place for the Holy Kumbh Mela. As a Result, One must not miss visiting this Holy City, which is ever ready to Shower the Grace on You.

Let’s Get into Some Important Places, One must Add in his List while Traveling to Ujjain:

Shri Mahankaleshwar Temple

Mahankaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple is One of the Most Famous Hindu Temple, in India, dedicated to Lord Shiva Ji. This Temple is sited on the Side of the Rudra Sagar Lake with the Governing God of Lord Shiva Ji, in the form of Lingam, also known as Swayambhu.

Nevertheless, The Temple is most popular for its “Bhasm Aarti” in the whole World. In this Aarti, Pujari’s brings the Fresh Ashes of the Humans from the Crematorium, in the Early Morning and gives a Shower Bath to the Baba (Lord ShivaJi) with those Human Ashes, every day.

Kaal Bhairava Temple

The Kaal Bhairav Temple is trusted to be linked with the Cult of Tantra of Hinduism. Accordingly, Many Sadhus (Saints) with Ash Wraped Bodies and Long matted Hairs can be seen around this temple any day. Shivalinga is Found under a Banyan Tree inside the Temple Complex opposite of Nandi Ji, the Holy Bull. According to Mythology, the Bull was gifted to ShivaJi and Parvati Mata, on the occasion of Weeding from King Daksh, the father of Goddess Parvati Mata.

Vedh Shala

It is believed that Instruments on Astronomy, such as Surya Siddhanta and the Panch Sidhhanta were written in the Holy City, Ujjain. There is a Small Planetarium and a Telescope to observe Mars, Moon, Jupitar and their Satellites. This is also used for Weather Forecasts as well. Also, Tropic of Cancer passes through the City, said by the Indian Astronomers.

Day 2

Chintaman Ganesh

Located on the Banks of River Shipra, This temple is one of the most visited places in Ujjain. Lord Ganesha perfectly sat here is believed to be Born by Itself (Swayambhu).

Devotees visit this Temple because the God, here is known as Chintaharan Ganesh, which means the “Assurer from World’s Anxieties and provides Freedom”.

Ram Ghat

It is sited close to the Harsiddhi Temple and is the Most Popular Place in Ujjain. Ram Ghat is very Important Ghat at the times of Kumbh Mela, which is held in every 12 years. On a Normal Day, Devotees performs their Rituals by firstly taking a Dip in the Holy Water here. Apart from Dip, Ram Mandir Ghat is also a Perfect Place for Relaxing Walk, mostly in the times of Early Morning or at Sunset.

Gopal Mandir

Gopal Mandir was built in the 19th Century, by Bayajibai Shinde, dedicated to Lord Krishna Ji. The temple is situated in the middle of the Market. It is the perfect example of Maratha Architecture with a Marble made Structures.

Day 3

Harsiddhi Mata Mandir

Harsiddhi Mata Mandir falls in the category of Shakti Peetha’s. It is trusted that Mata Parvati’s Elbow fell here, at the spot of temple, in Ujjain. One of the special features of this temple is, the Shri Yantra, or Nine Triangles that shows Nine Names of Mata Durga. Each Division of a Yantra is a Descriptive of Shakti. In the Temple, One can worship Mata Annapurna (the Goddess of Nourishment) seated near to Mata Sarasvati (the Goddess of Knowledge & Wisdom).

Gomti Kund

Gomti Kund is a Drench Water Tank, which is sited close to the Sandipani Ashram and a Permanent Source of Water Supply to the Ashram. It is also believed to be the place, where Lord Krishna Ji called up the Holy Rivers, so that his old Guru can calmly perform all the Rituals.

Chaubis Khamba Mandir

Chaubis Khamba Temple is a finest example of Impressive Structures & Architectural Marvels. The Royal Entrance Gate provides an Awesome view, which attracts the Visitors or Explorers to Visit the Temple and Worship. Each Side of the Gate, You can Capture the Two Splendid Portraits of Goddesses constructed Beautifully. This temple was built to the 9th or 10th Century AD.

Best Time to Visit

Winters in Ujjain are Perfect Time as it allows Visitors and Tourists to Sight-see with Comfort and Ease. Also, If it’s the turn of Kumbh Mela, One must not Miss at any Cost.

How to Reach

By Air : The nearest airport is in Indore, which is around the distance of 60 Km. There are daily flights from Indore to Mumbai , Kolkata, Delhi, Ahemdabad, Bhopal and various other cities.

By Train : There are three major railway stations in Ujjain, that include Ujjain City Junction, Vikram Nagar and Chintaman. There are regular trains that connects Ujjain to other important cities in India.

By Road : The well known bus stations in Ujjain are Dewas Gate and NanaKheda. The major roads that connect Ujjain to other cities in India include Agar, Indore, Dewas, Maksi and Badnagar Road. A huge number of private buses runs on these roads.
