On 26th October 21 at 11 AM we leaved hotel Krishna, Indore and started for Ujjain. Distance is 55 kms. On the way we had breakfast and reached Ujjain at 1 PM. Checked in hotel Amaltas and after some time went to Mahakaleshwar Temple by auto Rs.90/- Autowala dropped us at the point from where we had to walk longway by barefoot. But we had very peaceful darshan of this holy place. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas. The presiding deity is in the form of Lingam and is south facing, it is believed to be Swayambhu. First we have darshan from 1st floor and then again from ground floor. Temple is situated on the side of the holy river Shipra. The shrine is revered as one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peetha. You feel positive vibes inside the temple premises. Thousands of devotees come here daily, but crowd management is good. There are lot of other temples in temple complex, after darshan of Mahakaleshwar we took darshan of all deities. On the entrance of the temple security guard was asking everyone that whether covid vaccination is done or not, as vaccination camp was going on over there. Camera is not allowed in the temple but can use in the temple premises. There are so many street sellers on the way who troubles you a lot. Then by auto we went to Ram Ghat. Ram ghat is a pilgrimage destination for holy bath in Kshipra River. There are wide range of temples at the ghat. We worshipped river, did deepdan and by auto went to Bada Ganapati temple which is opposite to the exit point of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple (which we didn't know that, this is Bada Ganapati Temple, one hour before we passed by this temple only). The idol of Ganesha is really huge and beautiful. It reminded me the idol of Wai Ganapati, Satara, Pune. Inside Panchmukhi Hanuman idol is so beautiful. A swing (zhula) in which Krishna is seated. Idol of Yasodamaiyya breastfeeding little Krishna is also beautiful. Felt very peaceful after visiting. It is said that, this is the tallest idol of ShriGanesha in the world. One can learn Sanskrit and Astrology in the temple. After darshan of Bada Ganeshji we went by auto to Chardham. Near the entry gate we had coffee.
Chardham Mandir is a beautiful temple complex having idols of Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Krishna, Jagannath, Mata etc. Vaishno Devi gufa a very creative in this temple. Nominal ticket is Rs.5/- per person. It has sculptures of life of Shri Ram, Shri Krishna. Vaishno Devi temple is on the top of the cave. It is good experience to explore inside the cave. It is very good place to have chardham darshan at one place. Also adjacent is 12 Jyotirling Mandir. It is a must visit clean, calm and holy place. After this we came to hotel.
